Alexis & the Rest

My poor baby had to have 7 teeth removed today.  We took her to the vet Tues for her follow up and that she has been meowing at us a lot more then usual.  So we have been concerned.  Well, found out she needed help in the litter department and that her teeth were not good.  =(  She seemed to be doing much better in the 1st area once they gave her some fluids and we got some meds.  We had to wait for the blood work to see if she was ok to be put under for the dental.  Once we got the ok, we got her scheduled for today since our vet does surgeries on Friday.

I dropped her off early this am, before the gym and after I got done with all my errands this afternoon, she was ready for pick up.  Oh boy, my poor baby is still loopy from the drugs and I picked up over 5hrs ago.  When she got home she would struggle to get away from us and walk.  She walked into a wall, her legs keep falling under her……her eyes are so glossy.  =(  I know the effects will wear off, but I feel so bad for her.

We have her in the spare room for her own safety, with soften food, water & a litter box in there..  We don’t want her falling down the stairs or being harassed by the wonder twins.  She is getting a little better, I actually got her to purr.  The last time it was like she wanted to, but the drugs won’t let her.

I’m really hoping that she eats some of the food by tomorrow.  Right now, she is too drugged up (she hasn’t even touch her water and she has a fetish for drinking water) but it so important to make sure that she eats or we got to take her in for fluids.  The concern we have with her eating is that she won’t eat anything but dry cat food, preferably meow mix.  Hell, all of our cats eat the meow mix around the iams that we mix in it…..very strange.  But she won’t eat any kind of human food, except when her thyroid was out of wack….she may lick tuna juice.  But with out having those 7 teeth, which were chewing teeth, we are concerned about it.  Fingers crossed, that I find some of the soften food eaten.

The messed up thing, we have spent more money on her since Jan then we have spent on our own health in 2yrs….lol

I ended the week at the gym on a so-so note.  I finally hit 3.55mile in 30min on the treadmill, but when I went to do my second set of abdominal at 92#…..something didn’t feel right.  I think I may have pulled something.  I was able to do my floor abs, but on the machine, it wasn’t working even when I reduced some of the weight.

Surprisingly, my nose isn’t sore like I expected it to be.  My ears (like 20yrs ago…..lol) was sore for a month or two and my belly…well, you have to worry about pants hitting it wrong…ouch.  I just have to be careful blowing my nose and everything else around it.

Due to all my errands and such today, I haven’t gotten a bit of work done….icks.  So I’m going to get some of my emails done while watching Bill Mahr, so my work won’t be too much tomorrow.  We do have payroll Monday, so I need to get the prep started tomorrow with some other personal work done.

Our Trip

You know, I had started a post a few days ago and it has disappeared….wacky.

Watching WALL-E while doing this.  I love this movie!

I spotted my 1st raccoon in our neighborhood. I heard something up on the neighbor’s roof, thought it was one of the many squirrels, looked up and saw him.  It was hard to see him with losing daylight…..but he would come to the edge of that roof and look towards me as I talked to him.  =)

Today, I was actually able to get my work done after getting bombarded with things needing answering as soon as we got back from the gym.  I actually got time to get some things down around the house and have time to write up a blog. =)

My abs are sore as hell, that is what I get for not doing anything for week.  I can’t even laugh without it hurting.  But because my abs hurt, I’m not feeling the pain in my thighs, that I know is there.  And my new nose piercing isn’t hurting until I do something goofy, like hit it……..lol You don’t realize how much you touch your nose until you can cause pain doing it……grin

For those who missed my tweets (check them out…because I do post pics), I got my nose pierced Sunday and hubby got his other nipple done.  Since we got our anniversary presents early (the iphones in Apr) and we went camping last week for it, I knew we weren’t going to do much on it.  So I wanted to finally get our piercings done on a special day just to break it up especially since I was going to be working late on payroll.

Here is a hint, never have your wedding on a holiday or end/beginning of the month.  Messes up planning, so that is why we plan our celebrations early.

We went camping for the 1st time since our honeymoon….damn, can’t believe it has been that long.  We brought our tent and sleeping bags for our anniversary last year, but with trips and moving, never got to our camping.  So a year later, we finally got to use our stuff.  =)

We went down to the Redwoods in CA.  We took the quick route down, I-5 until we needed to cross over to 101.  Once we got to 101, we got to see some stunning scenery…huge trees and beautiful coastal views.  Once you opened your windows you could smell the forest….I love that smell.

We stayed at Prairie Creek campgrounds.  They have the last herd of Roosevelt Elk that frequents the meadow.  It was so cool to see.  They were just getting their antlers, so those were small and covered in felt.  The meadow was a fern meadow and not very tall at all, but it was amazing how they could easily hid in it.

We got a very nice spot, felt semi-private and tucked away.  We had one of the faucets for water right in front of our site, worked out nicely for washing dishes.  The fire grill was kind of high and big.  So you could sit and get the heat of it very well and with the size, couldn’t get good ashy fire.  The fires that are steady with the burning that makes it easier to cook over.  But we enjoyed anyway and learned a few things.  =)

We got our tent set up pretty quick.  Practicing in the living room really helped that.  =)  What flustered me, was that we try extremely hard to be organized and we couldn’t maintain that at all.  Always having to get our stuff out of the bear box and then forgetting that we had snacks and lotions..and stuff in our travel bags that we needed to put into the box….boy, we need more practice….lol

I know that camping is suppose to be roughing it and that doesn’t bother me, but I’m a female and love having a bathroom with running water.  And that campground had that.  =)  I really wasn’t looking forward to latrines….males have it so much easier for that.  They even had a few coin operated showers, which was great on the 2nd night after hiking…even if it was chilly on the walk back.

On the second day, we went hiking to the Tall Tree Grove.  That was really, really cool to see.  We had to get a permit to use the access road to get to it.

The 2nd night of sleeping was much more comfortable then the 1st night.  Think we were finally getting settled in it.

On the third day, we took the 101 out all the way.  We wanted to drive the Oregon coast. Wow is what I have to say about that.  It was a winding and hilly road, you really had to take care.  But it was stunning.  It was cool to see the sea and mountain air hit to make just beautiful mist.

We stopped at a great diner called Kozy Kitchen in Coos Bay. We had the best Turkey Manhattans ever, of course they were called open faced sandwiches and looked at us as if spoke a different language when we called them that……lol

We were going to drive all up to Cannon Beach, but we were so tired of driving and just wanted to chill.  So we ended up staying at Newport and got a room with a jacuzzi.  It was nice to chill out and check up, because we haven’t had a steady connection since we left home…lol  You don’t get the ATT 3-g network in the Redwoods or 90% of the drive up to Newport…grin

We had decided to head home the next day, but before we did that, we visited the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport.  It is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen.

What was surprising about our trip is that we got totally perfect weather for it!  At this time of the year the Redwoods it is normally rainy.  This time, it was sunny and clear, in the 60s and got to the mid 40s at night….perfect!

Even Portland has had great weather since Memorial Day and they haven’t had a non-rainy Memorial Day since 2005, I believe they said on the news….lol  We are suppose to get some thundershowers in the next day or so, but compared to last June with the constant chilly rain, I’ll take.  We have been having some perfect weather.

Overall, I really enjoyed myself even with the small things that drive you batty.  It was great to be out in nature and have fresh air.  Felt wacky as heck not to have some sort of online access, sadly……..lol…but nice.  I do need to learn how not to do anything again, felt kind of weird doing that.

I know that I should post more, but I spend a lot of my time working online, going to the gym, laughing at our cats, and doing everyday errands.  So I really don’t have much to post about.  Hell, I think most of my tweets are about work………lol  I need to work on that.  No one wants to hear the same thing over, over again.

And I’ve started to use twitter to make my comments on politics most of the time, since they are shorter and not long rants.  Boy, I could do some ranting about what has been going on….grin

I can tell you that our cat Drew loves to “roar” for no reason at all…….grin  He is always touching stuff….I swear he has ADD…..LOL

**I just noticed that my blog design is screwed up.  Looks like I may need to find another one.  =(  I really like this one.

Finally Settling Down

Well, it has been a crazy as hell emotionally the last few days.

As you have seen in my last few posts and on my twitter posts, one of our babies got out Saturday night.  It ended happily when Sakura was found about 24hrs later.  We are so happy and relieved that she is home.  Our biggest fear was all the roads around us that are very busy.  If we lived in the country, we would’ve worried but not have been driven to the level of anxiety that we felt.

Sakura was very timid for couple of hours once home.  But is getting back to normal.  I haven’t seen her play with her mice yet, but I’ll work on her tomorrow for that.

Before Sakura took off, we were having a pretty good day Saturday.  Hubby attacked the garage, got things reorganized and made more room and I attacked our storage closet.  We found a bunch of stuff to donate and made even more room.  We worked on cleaning the house and laundry.  And even had time to start chilling out and enjoying the day and then Sakura happened.

After we got her back, I finally was able to focus my brain and attack some work.  Made a very good dent in it, still had a pile waiting for me today.  But much more manageable.

I did about 15miles of walking looking for our nutty cat and putting up fliers this weekend.  I normally get about 4 miles in on non gym days.  Where we live we have a ton of hills and they can be steep…so it wasn’t an easy 15miles.

Even so today, we still went to the gym, to get back to normal, I did really good on the treadmill.  My old trainer’s voice in my head saying that you need to push it more when you have no motivation or it is harder then normal…..but boy did it hurt.

Then once we got home and showered, we headed out again.  We had to take down the fliers that we posted and pick them up from the businesses that I dropped off at.  Nothing I can do for the ones that I left in doors, mailboxes and gave out, but we made an effect to clean up.  So now I’m really paying for it.  My legs, thighs, and butt hurts from all the hills…..ouch.  I’m still going to push it tomorrrow, just need to remember to take some ibuprofen.  =)

Once we got all the fliers taken care of, it was time for work.  I had a bunch, ton of email, support tickets, company books….etc.  I finally got that done and was able to take care of our books and bills.  =)

I even been able to catch up with my friend’s feeds on my facebooks.  =)

I know that I have more work tomorrow, but it is more manageable.  And it is suppose to be another stunning day, so we are going to work on getting rid of some yardwaste in the back, change litters, and take care of the trash.  I do hope that I can take my laptop outside to work for a little while.  I really want to enjoy the sunshine.

Time for me get to bed.  Still playing catch up on sleep since this weekend.

Humans: Some are good, some just suck.

Zion National Park

Good: Last night I received a call from a girl who was looking for Sakura, she told me she and her boyfriend were bored and it was so nice out they thought why not go look for a black cat in the pitch black? They was aware of the reward, but never once asked “how much”.

I answered her questions on what Sakura looked like in more detail and thanked them. Around 10:30 pm she called back and said they may have found her but didn’t want to get too close where it would scare the cat off. They was 3 blocks away so I ran over there and verified it wasn’t Sakura. So we talked for a few minutes and I gave more insight of Sakura and this girl was actully sad for us. So I thanked them and left and thought to myself, that if anyone is going to get a reward from Sakura, I was hoping it would be her.

Suck: While standing from the upstairs balcony for Sakura I saw a kid run up the street and into a house across the street, I than walked to the back room to look for Sakura and found a big dog in our yard which I recognized as from across the street so I put 2 + 2 and got “lost dog” so We took the dog back home and when we got the owner and explained to him what and where we got “oh… yeah ok”

This dog was very freindly and of course had no tags, I have been majorly stressing Sakura and I had the thought of “Karma” when we was taking the dog back, and to find someone who didnt give a rats ass when I am on the verge of tears just pissed me off.

But back to Karma… Sakura did come home about an hour right after I took that dog home…

Sakura came Home!

Sakura

AND I’M GOING TO FUCKING KILL HER!

I really have been stressing all day long so bad Im on verge of a panic attack…. I need booze.
