This year has just flown by, I think not having an actual summer didn’t help. It was so wet/damp at the beginning and so short. We did get one more camping trip in and totally lucked out and got awesome … Continue reading

The Happenings….

Monday, June 6th was the day we planned for a 12mile hike on Mt St Helen’s, as a late anniversary celebration. Well, we didn’t go to bed as early as we should’ve and didn’t get our NW Forest Pass like … Continue reading

Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park – Oregon 0 – 09/07/2010 to 09/09/2010

This was a fun trip, we had some interesting weather for sure, sunny, to rain, to sunny to snow all in 5 mins time. It was 34F at night so this was the coldest camping trip we have ever done. Also almost got lost in the woods about 50 yards from our camp site. That was fun!

Alaska

We flew to Anchorage, Alaska for a friends wedding in March 2001. Pauline lived in Fairbanks for 4 years from 1985 to 1989 so this was somewhat of a returning home visit for her but this was my first time.

It will not be the last.

Unfortunately we put too much faith in our new Panoramic camera (film) and we was totally disappointed with the results. Of the multiple rolls of film we used we had about 2 “decent” at best, pictures. These few pictures were taken with our first digital camera.

Needless to say, we WILL return to Alaska if for no other reason then to take some pictures!

If not 2014, 2015 for sure. And this time, we will have multiple camera’s.

We stayed in Anchorage, drove down to Seward, visited the Sea Center (LOVED IT!) and we visited what we could of Kenai Fjords National Park as well as the Anchorage zoo and downtown Anchorage itself, which for a city is really pretty cool.

2001 Rose Bowl

The Purdue Boilermaker’s won a co share of the Big Ten Championship and played in the 2001 Rose Bowl vs the Washington Huskies on January 1, 2001 at Pasadena, CA.

Drew Brees was our Quarterback and even though we lost the game, it was a fun time of going to all of the home games and traveling to a few of the away games and of course, the Grand Daddy of Them All… Going to the Rose Bowl.

We know we was very lucky to be season ticket holders during the Tiller/Brees era of Purdue Football. Something we miss.
