ToRn’s takes on life and happenings.

What are the odds?

The 2 companies I hate dealing with more then anything else is Sprint and Dell, and I had to deal with both in a 24 hour period.

I already cried over my sprint crap, we had lost signal a 3rd time later that night for at least another 2 hours but once again I had to deal with Dell last night. We were watching the Daily Show and all the sudden my Dell started making loud noises and vibrating. The fan sounded like it blew up, so I confirmed that nothing was in the fan blades, cleaned it out with air, rebooted and still, sounds like it was grinding.

Joy.

So I go to the Dell site, log into my admin, confirm I have a warranty for another 2 years and then went to the live help chat, I waited 20 minutes and got a tech, told him my issues and what I did and that I *MUST* have this fixed since I leave in a week for 2 months.

So I was asked to download some crap so they could run test on my laptop and man that totally freaked me out. All the sudden my mouse moves and windows open and things are typed…. Freaky!

Then they had to call me since I had to shut down my laptop and we booted it into test mode and ran a fan test and sure enough, my video fan is dead. I think it is VERY cool that I have something can perform test on my hardware and we don’t have to sit here guessing.

So the good news is a tech is coming to my home no later then Monday, the fan wont hurt my pc, so not a huge deal, but still, get it fixed while we can. And I must say this was the best experience I have had with Dell, the less I have to talk to a person the better, I was having to re read what they wrote but I got the gist of most of it, so I guess this is the way to deal with it, don’t call them, let them call you.

How Do I Feel?: okay okay

Good News…. Bad News..

Good News

I will never mow this “yard” again.

Bad News

I hit a stump and totally messed up my mower beyond repair.

This time it’s the engine, the last time I hit a stump it was just the blade, but I tried to start it after I confirmed the blade was ok and it sounded like it wanted to blow up, so I think I will just let it die.

We was going to have to pay to get it mowed the day we leave anyway, so no biggie on that, and the mower is 7+ years old and has been rode hard and put away wet for a long time, so I got my $ worth from it.

But still, it was mine and these damn stumps were supposed to be taken out 2+ years ago, but why spend another $50+ on a mower 7+ years old that cost $250?

RIP mower….

A moment of silence please……

Thank You….

How Do I Feel?: blah blah

I Hate Sprint

Almost 90 mins of hold time total. The first woman blamed my phone; the second woman blamed my phone.

I ripped some ass today, I hate being treated like I am some backwoods hick and not smart enough to realize that if I can not get any signal, and Pauline can not get any signal, it is not our phones, but both swore up and down it was our phones and there is nothing wrong with the network even when I reminded them that less then 4 weeks ago a cell tower went down or some BS.

It took me a while to even find a # to call on the Sprint site, it says to call *3 if you have a issue (which didn’t work either which is why I needed a # to call) but the second lady told me to hit *Q (which is *7, why she said Q makes no sense to me) and by this time I was yelling too much and sharing my feelings regarding my thoughts on Sprint so I have no real idea why they advertise *3 and it is *7.

I then drove to the Sprint office 3 miles away and the very first thing they said to me when I walked in was “Hi, welcome to Sprint, we have no signal right now”

Hmmmmmm….. must be my phones after all.

Please someone explain to me how a multi billion $ company that specializes in communication has zero clue when they have a problem but when I walk into a local store, they know instantly.

I spent almost 90 mins on Skype to be told there is no problem and 90 secs in a store telling me they know and have reported it….

Not what I wanted to do today.

*as I was ready to post this we got signals again….ggggrrr sprint… 4.5 hours

How Do I Feel?: annoyed annoyed

Do you know what is worse then calling Sprint for support?

Having to call Sprint using Skype cause you get zero connection on your cell phone for the second time in a month.

SPRINT SUCKS!

17 mins and counting on hold…..

How Do I Feel?: pissed off pissed off

stressed

Geeze talk about a way to mess up a day.

I am in a pretty bored state as of late, I have really nothing to do and I want to do less, so I have been shit faced bored to the point I am going to bed around 11 PM and getting up at 8 AM which is weird and just wrong.

If I actually worked on everything that still needs to be done, I would be 100% done in a few hours at most, and there is still 11 days before we get the moving van, so it is still too soon.

So about 30 minutes ago I am chatting with a close friend who lives in Seattle and she asked to see pics of the new place, so I send her the pics my Portland friends sent us and since the rental office use the same interior pics for more then one address I go to craigslist and find the rental pics that we saw and send her the URL and tell her the pics are the same the address isn’t…. Then I see the address to the listing that was just posted TODAY was in fact the same address we signed a lease for 2+ weeks ago.

RATS!!!!

So I’m flipping out, stressed and boredom makes me an angry angry man, so I call the rental company and (I was very polite) she tells me she will look into this and call me back. 2 mins later she calls and says she never leased it to us and we was never screened…. as soon as she said that I heard someone in the background yell “I found it” and she asked him “are you sure?” and he says “yes”.

She then apologies and says she is normally the one who does this for the office and was on vacation the week we did this and wasn’t not told it was rented, so all is well and the add was taken down within minutes of our phone call.

WHEW…. that got me going. How Do I Feel?: bored
