I went to the local shelter yesterday and adopted two 4 month old kittens, a brother and sister. The intention was JUST one, but my heart was broke the second I walked in and I honestly I couldn’t decide on which one I liked better so I got both which was $150 and donated another $50 to the shelter.

Her name is Sakura (Sa KUR a) which is Japanese for “Cherry Blossom” she seems to be the dominate of the two and very feisty, she’s smoky in color, but has tiger stripe lines and a lighter undercoat, so she’s very unusual in appearance and loves to be handled, so far she has tried to ripe my necklace off as well as my earring, which of course she missed and got all ear.

His name is Drew Brees and no, I did not name him, Pauline did and she did it in 1 minute of seeing them, it took me an hour to settle on Sakura(I was debating on naming her Sushi but Pauline said no.) He is mostly gray and very feisty and LOVES to growl as he plays, I mean constantly growl like a dog. They both LOVE those fake mice and in the 5 hours since I brought them home have played with those damn fake mice and that stupid cat tree we have had for 15 years more than all the other cats we have had combined over 15 years, totally amazing to see.

So for the first time in 15 years we have 2 kittens and wow, what a difference it is.

Reggie (Who has terminal cancer) is getting closer, and I knew if I didn’t get another cat now, I wouldn’t be able to for a long time after him and that made me worried about Alexis since she has never been alone in her life so I decided to get one and of course, I’m a idiot and got 2.

So far neither Alexis or Reggie seem amused at all and Alexis has been hissing which is pretty unusual for her, so we are giving them more attention and put the “wonder twins” in a locked room for some time to give Reggie and Alexis their space.
