Just Working

Been busy as heck the last 2 days with work. Nothing exciting, just time consuming and eye blurring. I didn’t get my walk in today, probably should have, but I am under in calories today so it balanced out. I did get my walk in yesterday. =)

Portland is known as the City of Roses, but we are in a town on the outskirts so there is some, but not as much as the city. I did come cross a few on my walk. Most of them are very close to the houses and if I got any closer to take pictures they would probably think I was a burglar…………lol I did luck out and find one blooming near the sidewalk so I made my amateur attempt of getting a good shot.

Harold called his folks yesterday. Found out one their dogs, a malamute, got it bad from a porcupine. =( Over 1500 quills….3 different sizes. The vet got him taken care of, but there are more of them moving out of his nose and skin. The poor baby…..he is doing better, it has been 2 weeks.

I finally got our cell phones changed to a local number. We were just waiting on a few loose ends from Florida……..namely from our former landlord. That is now all taken care of, feels good. We will have these numbers, hopefully, for the next several years.

I went to all the accounts off of the top of my head and got that info changed, I know I must have missed a few but it is start. I also remembered to get our numbers listed on the Do No Call Registry : https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

I emailed everyone I could think of about the change and I text everyone. But I did goof on that, I texted everyone who were in the Est time zone not remembering that it was about 11pm their time! oops……..sorry everyone. My uncle called to chat when he got it. That was cool and he is in central time, so it was only about 10 there.

Tomorrow is going to be an errand day. I hope to get off my ass and start early…….we’ll see, I’m going to hold my breath. =)

Semi-Productive Day

Today was pretty productive even though it took me time to roll out of bed. Which is the hard part…….after so many of years of having to jump out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, I like to take my time and spend time petting our cats……..which are right there meowing at us when they know when we are awake. I’m usually awake, just don’t want to leave the comfy-ness of it. Then I have to get out of bed….I get restless and my body gets sore from laying there…..I can’t handle that. I will say that I’m pretty proud that I haven’t made the habit of taking naps even when I get the urge. =)

After I finally got myself moving….which involved the normal morning surfing of the news and some boards…….and then seeing online how bad Purdue was getting their asses handed to them, since it wasn’t on tv. I went out for a walk…..not enough in the habit yet to call it my walk…..went further back on a back road and found some really nice houses……the hills giving my legs a work out as soon as I got my foot settled into it. I’ve taken so many pictures of purple flowers that I was trying to get pictures of other colors to show.

Of course, I did have to get a little bit of bluish purples, but to set off the pinks and whites. =)

When I got back from the walk I did a few minutes on the elliptical machine and then hit the shower. I was getting ready to settle down to get some work done, when Harold had a to have a caramel mocha….he has become a fan and is officially a north westerner now. =) So we headed out and also stopped at the drugstore to get pictures taken for our passports, now we just need pick them up……..and then on for our drinks.

I attacked my pile of emails and messages. Took longer then I thought and then some lite online work. Not as much as I thought I would do, but it is a start.

I’m hoping I’m a little be more productive tomorrow during the day, I have a bunch of work to attack tomorrow night that I hope to get done.

More Pictures

I took a longer and a different walk today. I went out to the main road and walked to different entrance of the neighborhood………then went further on down the street then I had been. Found that there was new construction going on and found a back road. I’m thinking of checking that out next time.

You are probably getting tired of some of my pictures, but I figured it was my blog so I can go ahead and post them anyway. =) I’m just so enjoying the different flowers and colors that I just have to share.

When I saw this, I thought it was some sort of plastic flower, but it is real. Never seen anything like this one before.

We went into Portland this evening for a small get together. It was nice and laid back. Sometimes getting out of the house helps me to focus on work when we get back.

My head really hurts……it is allergies……I had a couple of peppers hoping that it will help.  Sometimes it does.

I didn’t even touch what I wanted to touch today.  =(

We were having issues with connection again, which didn’t help.  Comcast came back out………of course, no one has seen the issue that we are having…..just our luck, but they are trying.

I really don’t have much more to say, but here are a few pictures that I took on my walk today.

Semi-Productive Day

I rolled out of bed about an hour later then I wanted to. But I felt much better then the day before….sleepwise anyway. I was not feeling too good woman wise…….in fact, later in the afternoon I hurt more then I ever had………but I got through it in the morning. So it took me a little longer to get going, but I went for a walk around the neighborhood.

I thought it would be cool out, but it was actually very nice, even with the overcast. I was able to walk a lot more then I thought I would. I didn’t know if my feet would be able to handle it, but they just need to stretch out from the night’s sleep, which left them stiff. We have some really nice houses in the neighborhood, it is a mixed neighborhood with rentals and private owned houses.. …….a very goo blend.

I was really enjoying the vegetation. I took a few pictures of the changing leaves, felt kind of weird taking picture of the neighbors’ landscaping……..may think I’m casing them or something. =)

When I got done walking I attacked the litters and vacuumed the house. So I was able to keep active and get some more exercise. By the time I was done, it was early afternoon, but it was time for a very needed shower, before I had to start the laundry mess we had…….
I had gotten all the clothes done from Friday night, they were so nasty with smoke smell. Honestly, some times I won’t go out because of that stuff……yuck. So we thought we got all of it, but sometimes we were getting a whiff of some…..found that it was the bunch of ones we had. My loving husband tells me that I can have those……yuck…..well, money can be washed just like clothes, but those were already going. A hand washing was called for if I was going to get rid of that horrible smell. For the afternoon I became a money launderer…………..LOL

When I got done with all that and lunch, I just got some online work done while taking breaks to watch some football games. The Saints lost. =( The Colts won, but didn’t get to watch that one. =( And the game that was tough to know who to cheer for was Da Bears and The Packers. I’m raised a Bears fan, but I love the history of the Packers, the sportsmanship of Favre, the record they were having this year and I feel that they are true American Team. No other team in the NFL is owned by the public, which is really cool. But the with being a Bears fan and seeing their W/L this year…….I had to cheer for them. So I was pleased that they won, but felt bad for the Favre and the Packers.
I should have gotten more done today, but was still pretty productive on other things. I know we want to get some errands done tomorrow……….I so hope they don’t take long, I hate that.
