I came across a few articles yesterday that I thought were interesting and since I haven’t done this in awhile…..

Just like everyone in the nation we thought something went wrong with the TV.

What I haven’t seen in the articles is that what I liked was that Tony finally got to see his paternal influence over his kids choices. Meadow on wanting law since she has seen her dad been taken away by the FBI and AJ and his finally comment about remembering the happy times.

I liked to think that there was symbolism in where the family went to eat. That even though they have all that fancy stuff and Tony’s dark business, that basically when it comes to family that are just like the rest of us. Simple folks trying to live life the best that we know how with each other. But maybe I’m reading too much into it.

Federal Appeals Court Rules Against Bush Administration’s Enemy Combatant Policy

Such detention “would have disastrous consequences for the Constitution and the country,” Judge Diana G. Motz wrote in the majority opinion, which was joined by Judge Roger Gregory. Judge Henry E. Hudson, a federal judge in Richmond, dissented.

“This is a landmark victory for the rule of law and a defeat for unchecked executive power,” al-Marri’s lawyer, Jonathan Hafetz, said in a statement. “It affirms the basic constitutional rights of all individuals citizens and immigrants in the United States.”

**Now before any right-wing nut goes off on this, I believe all terrorist should be jailed and (if mass murder committed) executed.

But I’m a very, very firm believer in our Constitution and feel that this administration has done extreme damage to balance of powers and guidelines set within it. How the hell can you take an oath to protect the thing that allows you to get elected and then trample it all over it in the name of “protectionism”??? Protecting all Americans??

What about the Americans who get caught up in this? Some may be terrorists scum, but they still deserve the same protections and due course of the law. In fact, Bush is saying that he can decide who the Constitution applies to! So if your grandma is jay-walking and they want to make up a terrorist charge then you have no recourse! How fucked is that?

Welcome to the United States of America set forth by the worst President in our history.

Lawsuit: Katrina Pets Executed
