Toshiba you will never see another dime from me.

No wonder Sony kicked your ass in the Blu Ray/HD war; you are just too incompetent to conduct business.

I bought an Xbox 360 HD-DVD player on January 4, they along with Toshiba (Who I assume made the HD-DVD player) had a “5 free HD-DVD offer” with proof of purchase, I go online and see a list of 20 movies to choose from and none of them are really that good overall and to make it worse, you could only have 1 per group, so that made it even worse so I just selected:

The Hulk (seen it and……. yawn…)
Babel (not seen it and would like to)
Full Metal Jacket (seen it many times, and like it, but…. eh)
The Frightners (seen it, was ok, just got it since it’s a Peter Jackson movie)
Darkman (seen it… eh)

As I said, not really a good selection of movies to choose from but they are free so why not? We send all the crap in on January 5 and wait. February 24 I get a package and open it to find my envelope with all the crap I had sent to Toshiba and a letter saying I didn’t include my UPC code…. Which I know for a fact I did since when I looked inside the envelope I first sent to them that they just sent back to me I see…. the UPC code.

Ok, this ticked me off since all they had to do was LOOK inside and I would have had my 5 free DVDs. I call asking them WTF and I explain to the lady what my beef is and asked why could they not open the envelope I sent and look inside cause if they did they would have seen it just as I had. She tells me she doesn’t have a clue and to just send it all back which I do with a nice little letter at the bottom of the letter they sent me saying “Next time look, it was here” and drew an arrow to where it was located.

Another month passes and this past Saturday I get another envelope and I open it to find… all the crap I have now sent them two times but minus the copy of the receipt and with a very chewed up UPC code that was ripped to shreds so badly you could see only 2 numbers and a letter telling me I didn’t include the copy of receipt.

Now, if I didn’t send the receipt, and I sent everything they had sent back to me the first time, why didn’t the first letter say “you didn’t include the UPC code *AND* receipt” but it didn’t say that, it just said I needed the UPC. There is no doubt in our minds they had it all, but I guess my letter of “look next time” pissed someone off so my receipt got “lost” and my UPC code shredded.

So I call them again today and after waiting 25 minutes on hold I get another lady and explain my issues once more telling her I’ve been screwed over 3 times, once the first time when they claimed I didn’t send the UPC when it was there, and twice this time when they didn’t return my receipt and shredded my UPC. She told me to get another copy of my receipt and send it all back, which I told her was unacceptable and asked for a supervisor.

Her supervisor gets on the phone and tells me to send it all back, I tell her no, I’ve done this twice and twice I been rejected when I did everything I was supposed to do, and now that my UPC code is shredded I’m pretty sure I am screwed, so I tell her that I think Toshiba should honor their commitment and if they don’t than I won’t buy another product. She tells me she needs the receipt and UPC code which I remind her that it was HER COMPANY that shredded the UPC so I no longer have it and she tells me to send what I have back and they will see what they can do?

Ok, I’m done. I tell her I no longer want the movies and that I spent too much time on this already and I am done jumping through hoops for Toshiba if they do not want my money, they will not get it and told her I now understand why Sony kicked their ass, Toshiba is just too incompetent.

So no free HD-DVD movies for me so my HD-DVD collection is just 6 or 7 movies and season 1 of BSG.

Oh well, in 30 years they will be “cool” I suppose.

Oh yeah……….

________

Amazing documentary and very well done, clearly one of the best documentaries I have ever seen and I highly suggest everyone to see this. How Do I Feel?: impressed impressed

The great one has left the building.

We only get 1 PPV a year now, mostly due to time and lack of interest in the current stories, but we will never miss a Wrestlemania as long as I live and WM 24 will be remembered for a few reasons, and hopefully not because 40 people got hurt during the grand finale of pyro. From top to bottom it was a well done show, even the Mayweather/Show “match” was interesting, Mayweather did a much better job of it then I expected and he took the fact that the crowd hated him since it was announced and made them hate him even more and in the end, everyone saved face and I think, Show looked better than he ever has, he did his job and did it well and in this business, that’s rare.

Undertaker is 16-0 at WM and was in a match that started off boring as hell but got really good, the Triple Threat match was ok but the finish was amazing, NO ONE saw that coming.

Ric Flair has officially retired from the ring and swore he will never wrestle again, and in a world where the motto is “Never say Never” I truly believe deep down I will never see Ric Flair wrestle again. His final match versus Shawn Michaels was probably the best match I have seen Flair wrestle in since Ricky Steamboat in the early 1990’s. There was 3 blown “spots” but the fact that most people only saw 1 just proves how great Ric and Shawn are at what they do.

24 minutes is how long a soon to be 60 and soon to be 43 year old man wrestled for. To break that down more, 8-10 minutes is average for a match, 15 minutes is a long match, 20 minutes is a very long match, so imagine what 24 minutes would be like and then add into the factor their ages. Yes, they both have wrestled 60+ minute Iron Man matches in the past, but neither has done that in a very long time. Trust me; those 4 extra minutes are amazing.

The standing ovation Flair got from the 70,000+ as he walked out of the ring and back to the locker room for the final time as a wrestler was amazing and you sure could see it on his face how much it meant to him.

Bush’s War

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23745370/

This two-part “Frontline” documentary begins with the attacks of 9/11. Then, step by step, it moves toward the Bush administration’s shock-and-awe response. With Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein successfully branded Public Enemy No. 1, the invasion of Iraq began five years ago this month.

But that’s just the first part of “Bush’s War.” What “Frontline” calls a secret war — not so secret by now, but seldom exposed in such detail as in this film — airs on PBS from 9 to 11:30 p.m. EDT Monday (check local listings).
