Ankle Issues

I tried really, really hard not to do my normal or push it at the gym…..even cut out jumping-jacks.

Ended up only cutting about 1/2-3/4 mile off the elliptical and 1/2 mile of the treadmill.

Yet, didn’t get the dripping and burning eye sweat that I’m use to. Not sure how to take it….but it did feel better then what I was doing just floor. ?

Not really feeling any issues where I have been having them. Felt a little something in a different area.

Trying to be proactive and been doing the ice on and off today.

Didn’t wear the ankle wrap, if you get dependent on it, it weakens the muscle. The therapist said if I want to wear it to keep from doing something stupid, I should. So just going to wear it this week at work only….which is what I was doing anyway.

Good thing I start back on Sunday…..day off, was able to take my time and I skip on Monday’s. So it’ll give my ankle a rest. Then I’ll do the gym on Tuesday.

I was hoping to do my Tuesday-Friday cardio this week….but I’m going to see how I feel Tuesday before doing the gym Wednesday. Or I may not be able to get my cardio in 5 days this week….may have to do it every other day, and floor exercises on the other….we’ll see.

In a twisted sense, looking forward to regulars that I’m use to at the gym. We all know what what the other’s routine is and we work around it.

Today I get some guy singing outloud to his headphones! I’m like that is so rude. I know that I do it, but I do it when NO one is there….eye roll.

Another guy had come in and had looked at him and honestly with 2 guys in their 20s….that could’ve been a scene, so I told him “I can hear you over my Metallica”

That is pretty bad….lol But he was cool and I did it nicer then I felt like doing….lol

Ankle Issues

It is both relaxing and restless as hell not to do anything all day. I don’t know really how to describe other then that.

I’ve spent the week doing floor exercises at home before, means I get 30 more minutes of sleep. As the week as gone on, walking much, much better. Able to do the stairs without stutter-stepping…..and felt almost normal Friday.

But I have to keep reminding myself that it is not normal yet…..because one ankle is bigger then the other, so I can over do it.

Had my first appt with the physical therapist Friday. The very good news it is not a sprain, which indicates damaged ligaments/muscles. I over did it…..the muscles are inflamed.

I’ve been giving some exercises and I can start back at the gym tomorrow. BUT I will have to force myself not to push it, to take it easy, no idea how I’m going to do that. This is going to be hard…….ggrrr….. Happy to be active again and get back into part of my routine….still need a modified gym routine.

After doing a bunch of errands yesterday, I made a point of doing just about nothing today…..and boy it was nothing. I don’t even have 1300 steps on today! ICKS! I’ve had days up to 32,000. I did want to give my ankle a full day off.

We’ll see how it goes tomorrow….fingers crossed.
