We had a wonderful day of great weather, in fact it was the best day of the year so far, it was a day of accomplishment, a day of where projects were finished, the perfect Starbucks drink was obtained, and wonderful weather enjoyed.
But it ended with our most feared scenario actually, and impossibly, becoming a reality.
Both cats, via this crazy, insane, should never have happen, but did happen, got loose at the same time, and running in different directions.
Pauline ran after Drew across the back alley, not knowing Sakura also got away, and I was going after Sakura running and tripping over a obstacle course.
We completely lucked out and found both of them. I am still too freaked out to go into the details, I think it was 3 – 5 mins, but It just seemed liked forever. We are currently in a urban area, million’s of car’, billion’s of monster’s, trillion’s of places to get lost in, and with every worse case image going in my head at once… etc. X 1000
Drew was somewhat freaked, but he was cool soon after. He has a ripped toenail that doesn’t seem to bother him too much, and he’s been cool with us cleaning it and soaking it in epson salt. He’s a pretty laid back Dude.
Sakura was in total meltdown. Which made everything MUCH worse. She has a small bald spot on her tummy from the fur getting pulled out, but nothing she seem’s to notice even when brushing.
I am a wreck. Plenty of cut’s and scraps and totally full of guilt and regret.
Things I’ve learned.
The perfect day can end fast in a very bad way.
Think the important shit out, before you do it. If it can go wrong, it will go wrong.
I ignored too many thing’s “that could go wrong, but only if this happen” since really… “what are the odds that would happen” right?
They ALL went wrong.
At once.
I have now accepted that Sakura hate’s the big wide world.
That I should only try to take her outside in controlled area’s and never put her on the long leash and ALWAY’s make sure her harness is TIGHT.
Took me 3 hours to come down from my freak out.
Now, the Cat’s are cool. I’m cool.
I Love Vodka.
