North Cascades National Park – March 14, 2013

North Cascades National Park – March 14, 2013

Pauline and I took the day off and since we had to do some errand’s an hour North of us, we decided it made perfect sense to drive another hour and make our first visit to North Cascades National Park.

We had been meaning to make the journey ever since we moved to the Northwest, but found reasons not to go. We have been to Olympic and Rainier multiple time’s, love them both and highly recommend both.

But North Cascades was somewhat of a disappointment. We was not expecting the power lines from the hydro dams. Yes this show’s I knew nothing about North Cascades National Park prior to visiting.

It was still a good visit, we enjoyed the drive and site seeing, and loved driving to the end of the road and having had the entire mountain to ourselves. Such a freeing moment to have.

We just like seeing our National Parks with as little human involvement as possible so this a surprise. We just could not get a good mountain shot without a power line, and when you didn’t expect to see power lines, you are kinda bummed out.

Anyway, we had fun, had a good lunch at Cascades Burgers in Concrete, WA and took some pictures and just enjoyed a day off and outside.
