I mentioned I had never had egg’s benedict so Daphna/Allen wanted to make sure I tried the best so I know what it should taste like and said we must go to “The Maltby Cafe” near Snohomish, WA.
Daphna also explained that there is at least a 1 hour wait, no matter what time you go, and it was 40 minutes away so we would have to get up at 7:30am and leave by 8am if we wanted to eat by 10am.
Getting up early, driving 40 minutes and waiting in a line for a hour or more just to eat breakfast? What is not to love? Ok, Not the best of idea’s but it sounded like it could be fun.
We arrived in a crowded parking lot and noticed everyone was trying to park as fast as they could so they could run to the door and get their name on the waiting list.
We all agreed that is a good idea for next time!
We waited about 30 minute’s I think, nothing too bad, and the food was just incredible.
They hand make everything from local suppliers. It was just a great dining experience and the best breakfast I have ever had.
We started with a Cinnamon Roll which was freakishly huge. It was just huge. But the taste was bigger. We each got something different from the menu and shared so we had a huge breakfast of variety and overwhelmingly good food.
Pauline got the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were so delicate.
Daphna got the California Scramble I think it was.
Allen the Egg’s Benedict which was awesome to have, I look forward to having them again.
And I had the French Toast with fresh fruit. I have no words to explain how good it was, I also had a carmel cappuccino was just perfect.
Again, this was the best breakfast I have ever had.
After we ate, we rolled ourselves out to the Jeep and took a walk around the massive Flower World nursery. They have geese, duck’s and chicken’s of various kinds all around a well maintained “park” and a huge arboretum to walk around.
We bought a 1/2 gallon of fresh squeezed Apple Cider.
We dropped the food off and then headed back to our first ever visit to a Trader Joe’s. We have lived such a sheltered life.
50F. Sunny. Nice.
