My Trip pt 1

Wow, I actually have most things caught up.  What I do need to do, I can do tomorrow around getting my poor butched nails done.  (I broke on taking my laptop out for security in Indy last Fri)

I still need to get some ringtones for my replacement phone and need to add the new music Harold got before I left to my itunes.  I put my copy on the wrong hard drive and deleted it when I was done…..gggrrrr.  So now I have to remember who it was that he got when I go into his hard drive.

Alright, I need to blog about my trip because I didn’t have time when I was traveling….lol

It was an extremely early morning for leaving on the 3rd…I was up just after 3am after only 3hrs of sleep.

I do have to note, if you have to deal with TSA, deal with the ones in Portland (PDX).  As long as you calm and nice, they are the friendliest bunch and usually have a great sense of humor.  San Fran they are jerks, most other airports have been hit and miss.  But I always so glad to be home and, if I have to deal with security, be around PDX TSA agents, much better attitudes.

The flights were normal, not enough leg room.  I had my connection in Denver….which was 60 gates away from where I landed.  Luckly got there in enough time to chill for a few minutes.  It wasn’t a bad airport from what I could see, it was my 1st time there.  Then it was on to new Indy airport.

Wow, that was weird.  I’ve been in and out the old Indy airport so many times that I can walk it with my eyes closed….lol   What I could see, it is a very nice airport….even had a starbucks…lol  The only thing that I did not like was that they directed you to downstairs for your luggage, no big deal, but then they directed you back upstairs with your luggage, over the crosswalk (the street below was for taxises and shuttles only) and then back down to the rental car counters.  That was just wasted time.  When I could have just stayed at the ground level, dealt with the weather and crossed that street to the rental car office, which was connected to the garage.

I ended up with a chevy aveo ?  Never even heard of them, but had my choice of color.  I picked out the bright blue that perfectly matched my Payton Manning jersey that I was wearing….grin  Some guy who was picking up a car commented “you really like your blue”……lol  Then when I went to check out, I couldn’t find the buttons, so I was going to open my door and the lady made a movement with her arm to say “roll” your window down….DOH  I haven’t been without power windows since ’97…..lol  Didn’t even think to look for the hand crank.  =)

I stay at my folks when visiting.  My cousin Leslie Ann and her family and my uncle Paul were suppose to come down for a “holiday” dinner on that Saturday, but my uncle tore a knee muscle at work and my cousin’s husband just lost his job.  =(  I was so looking forward to seeing everyone together and I hadn’t seen my uncle in years.  But I understand.  I wasn’t able to see my uncle this trip, but when I drove up to Michigan to visit Sandi I stopped by and visited my cousin.  =)  More on that later.

So I spent a lot of my time just trying to help out in the areas that I could, computers and ipod shuffles (my nieces & nephew).  And just visiting with everyone.  Cheyanne had me helping her with her homework.   Dad said she was just enjoying the attention that I was giving her.

I got to see Cheyane in her music concert singing.  She didn’t look like she wasn’t enjoying herself….lol  I tried to take video, but she was dead center where the teacher was.  =(

After rescheduling due to her concert, Melinda, the kids and I went to get portraits done for my folks.  They are actually mainly for mom, dad likes pictures but for mom it is big deal to her. We were trying to get a 16×20 but they wanted way too much and it came framed.  My mom has a frame, she wanted to replace the old picture of her, Melinda & me in with the new one.  So we ordered a few sheets, got her a 10×13 and then I paid for the disc with the copyrights.  =)  Bingo….now she can get what she wants at a much more reasonable rate.  Plus, I was able to put the copies all of their pcs and mine.  So I can print out the pictures that I want.  =)

I’m accessing my husband’s harddrive so I can get to my music I lost.  I’ll continue this later.  =)

Suspicions Confirmed

Women on the pill may suffer a lackluster sex drive, mood swings, or even extra sinus pressure, she said.

I knew it!!!  I never use to cry before I got on the pill, now I cry during a kleenx commerical!  It is annoying as hell.

Exhausted

Wow, where to begin……at the present, I’m having to fix my tree 4-6 times a day.  I use to have a very beautifully balanced tree…..but now the branches on my 10yr old tree are all bent…ggrrr We have had kittens around xmas trees before, but NONE of them have climbed it.  They would bop the lower hanging ornaments and sleep under it, but that is it.  We found Drew at the very top inside of my tree just purring away until Harold grabbed him out of it.

I love having my tree and having presents under it, but I can’t even have presents under it.  =(  Some days I feel I should just put it away, but not having my tree wouldn’t feel right.
Ever since I got back I have been working.  I totally fell behind while at my folks.  I have never fallen that far behind, but when I think about it, I have more responsibilities then I did last year.   I still haven’t done the books since I did the payroll, but I’ll do that tomorrow.  We were going to go see Bond, but schools are closed due to the weather and we don’t want to try the movies unless they are in.

Which brings me to our weather.  We have been having some very unusual weather there.   We just had one winter storm front go through.  The buses all have chains on, there have been major accidents on the interstates, and it is very cold, in the 20s not including the wind chill (with gusts up to 40mph).  The issue that I’m having is that you don’t know what to expect 10 miles away because of the hills and the difference in elevation.  That really effects how much snow that you get.  In the midwest, it is pretty flat and pretty easy to figure out…if you are closer to the Great Lakes, you have more snow.

We really don’t have the much snow in our little town, but you have to be extremely careful on the roads.  They don’t use salt and since this is unusual, they don’t have a fleet of snowplows and staff to attack every street like the they do in Indiana.
It was clear, with stunning crystal clear views of the Mt Hood everywhere, but cold as heck today.  We are suppose to have to the same thing tomorrow and then we have another winter storm on the way.  Good thing we just have the gym planned for this week.

That is what is going on for this week so far.  I hope to have time to do a post about my trip tomorrow.  That is what I was planning on doing tonight, but as you can see it turned into something else.  =)

I found Drew sitting purring a…

I found Drew sitting purring at the top of my tree, even though I just yelled @ Sakura & was trying to fix the mess they made.

Wow, we actually have a winter…

Wow, we actually have a winter storm here. ODT is requiring chains if you want to use the interstate…something we need to get.
