Breaking Out

We just got back from the store and I can say this with the knowledge of living in middle of Indiana corn fields for 18 years and having countless blizzards and countless feet of snow.

*THIS IS THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN*

I say that due to the fact the Portland area (and my friends in Seattle say the same thing) is *NOT* in anyway shape or form ready for any snow storm at all. The *ONLY* hope is getting back to the 40’s like we are suppose to Thursday/Friday.

Yes, I know Buffalo and Canada and a million other places get way worse snow/weather, but the difference is, your areas are READY and use to it. This area isn’t even close to being ready or use to it. This would be comparable to Miami getting 12” of snow for a week, it’s that bad.

I still haven’t bought chains for my Jeep which is mandatory, since we haven’t gone to the mountains yet I didn’t see the need… I wish I had them now.

Since we live on a steep hill they are plowing the streets that run East/West North and South of us (Our street runs North/South) so we had to get some speed and ram our way through about 50’ of 3-4’ deep of snow and Thankfully, my 4 wheel drive made it, of course getting home was a bigger question since we need to drive uphill and of course when I was going as fast as I could going up the hill to plow into that deep snow a car just had to be coming from a side street… not that I stopped at the stop sign.

But we made it….

We walked to our downtown and snapped a few pics
