Not too much has been accomplished this weekend for me, I have a massive amount of work to do and I just can’t seem to motivate myself long enough to start it. Weather has been pretty good for the most part the last week or so, just a few rainy days. This week we are planning to go see some local sites that we have wanted to see for a while, so if the weather stays nice I hope to have some good shots of Multnomah Falls and wherever else we end up going, we also need to take a drive to the coast.
We joined a gym two weeks ago and so far I went from 220lbs to 211lbs. 208lbs is the lowest I recall ever being since I graduated from HS in 1990 so if I get below that I am not sure what to think. I know its all “water weight†and that I still have a long way to go to get into the physical condition I want to be in, but it’s a good start.
The gym gives you a “workout†to see where you stand and to set goals etc, my goal is just to be more fit. Weight doesn’t bother me, I’m 6’2†so 220 isn’t a bad weight for me, I just want to be more fit so instead of carrying it around my gut I’d rather have it spread out and be more slender. I am not looking to be a body builder I just want endurance so we can go hiking and camping and not have to worry about passing out from the long walks or from carrying our gear. But the gym dude said by his calculations I needed to be 160 lbs.
Um… I was in incredible shape when I was 18 and at that time I weighed 195 so how can I be in even better condition 30 lbs less than that? Screw that, not going to happen, that just cannot be healthy.
Reggie is still Reggie, but now he is sneezing blood more often which is worrisome, but it’s just something we have to cope with now.
Stupid cat.
We have been talking about getting a second car for a while, but it has never been a top priority. Every so often I will just do a search on new and used cars in the local area to see what is what and Friday I came across a nice 2007 “Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo†with just 3,600 miles. We both were pretty skeptical when we saw it, but we had an hour to kill so we went to the dealership and listened to what they had to say and as impressive as the offer was, we said “no†and was getting ready to leave when they came out with a even better offer that we found too hard to refuse, so we are now owners of a “Steel Blue†2007 “Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredoâ€.
We are still laughing about how it all happen, honestly this was not what we expected to be doing on a Friday let alone anytime within the next year or so, but this deal was just too good to pass up. The Jeep is in incredible condition, it still has the new car smell and there are still a few places that had the plastic that the manufacture put on things to protect it. Whoever the owner was before us, they took great care of it the entire 3,600 miles they owned it for.
The only thing I would like is the roof cargo rack, which I have never once used, but I just like how it looks, so I may get one, I may not. But for sure this is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. Our goal is to trade her truck in next year around this time for a new one and I have full confidence we will be able to do that in 2009.
Right now Reggie is on my lap sleeping (and bitching every so often) since Pauline is down stairs sweeping the carpets, he seems to think I will protect him from the scary vacuum. I just love when he raises his head and looks at me and yawns and I get a whiff of his “butt breathâ€â€¦. Isn’t cat love just special?
