Busy and Stressful Worry

Between all the work I’ve had to do the last few days and Reggie, it has been stressful.

I can handle the work load, what I can’t really handle is the worry that I have had for Reggie the last few days.  If you haven’t already, just read Harold‘s post and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

We did get a call from the vet this evening.  Reggie is negative for feline HIV and luerkama  (I know, I can’t spell it).  He has one or two signs that could be cancer, but it could be normal for him since nothing else indicates it.  We trying to weigh whether or not to get the exam where they put something up his nose to see what is going on.  If it is a tumor there is nothing that they can do, but the vet said it could be something small, like a piece of litter or a fungus.  If it is fungus they can give him meds.  I’m not sure if they can do anything if something is stuck.  I just want him to be well.  He still is his grouchy, crabby self……….while looking fricking adorable.

I’m a little less stressed since we have been told from the vet that we don’t need to worry at the moment.  But I still worry about him.  We lost Aurora just over 2 yrs ago and Randi 4yrs ago in April, I am NOT ready to lose any more of my babies.  He is only 13, so I’m keeping his grouchy ass until he is at least 17, the cat average.

We’ll see how it goes, but I’m going to see about getting Alexis a check up.  She throws up too much, not always fur balls…….more of food.  But she eats and drinks fine.  I just wonder if she eats too fast because some of the food is full size pieces.  But it won’t hurt to get her checked out.

We finally order a wii………thanks to Kris and her friend for bringing theirs down during super bowl weekend…..can’t wait until ours gets here.  Of course, Monday is a holiday……….never fails…….we order something and we have to wait longer then normal due to a dang holiday….gggrr   We are suppose to get ours by the 20th.  I think it will be a great stress reliever.

Kansas HS refuses female official

**It is 2008 in the US!  You really would think that we would be over that.  But as another article stated that it is more acceptable to be sexist then racist. Just look as the sexist comments that some of the political pundits make about Hillary.  Morons!

Here is the article about it : Some voters say sexism less offensive than racism

Well, I need to order some office supplies………..my online job ate up the majority of folders that I use for our businesses filing system.  And it eats a lot of copy paper.  Thankfully we can find our printer ink on ebay in bulk.  That has been a life saver.

Stupid Cat

A few weeks ago we found a few spots of dry blood on our leather couch, very small and in a “spray” pattern. So I looked over the 2 cats and saw nothing wrong on either, I just assumed they scratched themselves and shook their head etc, no biggie.

Yesterday we came home and found 2 pretty large areas of dried blood, and for sure you could tell it was sneezed there, I knew it was Reggie since he lives on the couch. I again looked him over and he looked ok, nothing I could see. So I told Pauline if it happens again I’d take him to a vet. So I come upstairs and start working on a friend’s hard drive that just crashed when I got the bright idea of Google-ing “cat sneezing blood”.

Stupidest thing I’ve done in a while.

I freak out, and I Google local vets and made an appointment for today at 12:20. So I cage the boy up and put a towel over him and take him to the vet, after some paper work I get to see the vet and he looks exactly like Jerry Springer, glasses and all. He and his staff were the best vets I have ever seen, very professional, friendly and very calm and gentle with Reggie; they talked in hushed tones and made slow movements and were all around the perfect vets, I was and still am, very impressed with them.

I helped them examine Reggie and he did so well, he was scared, but wasn’t hissing or growling, which is a huge difference the last time I took him to the vet, he actually chased the assistant from the room the last time he was seen by a vet, he really put the fear of god into that poor girl.

They wanted to do some blood and urine test with some x-rays, so I sat out in the waiting room and within 10 mins the assistant came out telling me how well he was doing, not fighting or growling with them at all and 5 mins later she came and got me and the Dr showed me his x-rays and showed me that Reggie has a small bladder sand said that they wasn’t able to get any urine so if they need that I may have to take him back in. (Pauline had just cleaned the litters out before I left, so he marked the box as normal)

The Dr told me to not stress anything just yet. It COULD be a tumor, and it COULD be something is in his nose or just a cold. He has a small bladder, small kidneys and arthritis in his right hip and weighs 10 lbs, which is down from 14 lbs but that was 3+ years ago when he was last weighed, so not sure what to think about that.

Right now we are just waiting on a few specialists to look it over and the Dr should be calling me tomorrow afternoon with the results. He did say that many cats have lived years with nasal tumors and that the tumors were slow growing, but nothing could be done. He may have to get a camera shoved up his nose to look, which will cost $500 to $1000 but we will have to talk to the Dr’s first to see if the thinks it’s needed, he has some fluid in his lungs but that could be just a cold.

I caged him back up and brought him home, he barely uttered a peep from the moment we first got to the Dr’s office to when we got home, but the 3 miles drive to the Dr.’s office was pretty rough for him.

Pauline and I slept pretty rough last night, so I hope we will be able to chill out tonight and sleep well. I am still stressed, but I am trying to relax as much as I can.

And as for Reggie….. That little bastard is sleeping like nothing happen….

Stupid cat.

Busy Working & News Flash

Some days there isn’t much to do, overall and then the next……..wham. No big major projects, just a bunch of little things at once. Today was one of those days that I got bombarded.

I think I got more of most of my quickbooks issues done. Spent over an HOUR on the phone with intuit about it. SO far I’m able to download 3 of my 4 accounts from our bank. I think that when I had the business account hooked up to our others online I goofed that one for download. I’m thinking I’m going to have to start an all new registry in my QB for it to allow the downloads. But now I have an idea it makes it much easier.

Tomorrow I’m going to take a small break and get my poor nails done. They are looking kind of rough. But last tech really didn’t do the quality of work that I’m use to. So I’m going to head into Portland while Harold goes into the office to get my nails done there. If I have to get them done here in town, I think I have another place I want to try out.

I don’t think I’ve said anything. But my online job has grown in responsibilities. I’m now helping out in the support area. I’m slowly but surely learning the in and outs of it. I just can’t wait until I get a better grasp on the tech side of it, for the going through before deciding if I need to contact the techs.

Good news is that the Purdue Men’s Basketball won again Mich. St. 1st time in our history that we won against 2 top 10 teams back to back. They are doing great and they are freshman. They were recruited for long term, not just for one big time player that will leave in a year. I just hope this means that the program is back on track. I just wish the Purdue Women’s Basketball would get back on track. We use to be really good, but non of our coaches have been long term and that really effects the program.

Gang-Rape Victim Says She And Others Silenced by Halliburton

**This is just screwed up. I know I posted before about, but it rallies me up every time I read about it and don’t want it to be forgotten.

Sign the Open Letter from American Feminists

**I get The Nation, it can be very left wing so I read it carefully. I am a feminist and a liberal. But I’m more of a common sense, moderate one. I’m not into extremism on either side. But magazines such as that really helps you get informed on issues that the mainstream media avoid.

This article was addressing how the mainstream media likes to vilify american feminists. Which pisses me off to no end, because it is so fill of lies and misconceptions……gggrrrr Here you have an opportunity to add your name to a letter protesting and speaking up against it.

So get your name added.

Purdue Drum

Quite possibly the worse movie I have ever seen.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109254/

On so many levels this is such a bad movie… I came in on the last 45 mins and it was just bad…. bad, bad, bad, bad…. so bad….

How did anyone involved in the making of this “movie” ever get another job?

My 15 mins…. sorta

Ok, this is dumb, but it made us laugh.

sportsillustrated.cnn.com

This story is about 2 college seniors who went on a year long road trip to meet who they consider some of the greatest basketball coaches of all time, so many great coaching names on this list: John Wooden, Rick Pitino, Coach K, Bruce Weber, Dean Smith and more. This is what they had to say about former Purdue coach Gene Keady.

Former Purdue headman Gene Keady invited them to his place in West Lafayette, Ind. After saying they were the first strangers to come to his home, Keady warned them his wife had a .38 revolver under her pillow, “just in case.”

Ok… When Pauline and I was dating, I worked at a fine jewelry store that use to be a surplus store for over 40 years, this place was huge and had tons of shit in it, the owner was one of those guys who could turn a dime into a million dollars so he was always trying new things etc and sent his son to gemologist school and started a fine jewelry section that eventually took over the whole store. When I started to work there the jewelry and a small gun department was downstairs and the surplus was all upstairs, a very unique place.

Anyway, Gene Keady’s wife and friend came in one day while I was in the gun department and after bragging to me how rich they are, she bought a .38 from me. Of course when she handed me the $500 bill to pay for the gun, the bill “stuck” to 4 other $500 bills… I so hate when that happens…. and of course when her friend bought a $12 clip for a holster her $100 bill “stuck” to 3 or 4 other $100 bills.

So the punch line from this, something I might have sold his wife made CNNSI!

I’m famous!
