We are still debating what to do with Reggie, he is still sneezing blood and after talking to the specialist, it will cost 2 1/2 times as much to have a camera shoved in his nose then I was first told. It is not the $ that is stopping me from having it done, we can afford it, (Not that I want to pay it) but it’s more of a “is it worth it†which not even my Vet can answer. The Vet is now looking into a MRI which would be more detailed then the camera in his nose thing, but of course they cannot take samples this way to confirm if it is cancer. So we are in a “Kobayashi Maruâ€. (Let’s see how many of you so called geeks know what that is) Its hard being in this situation, not knowing hurts, and knowing could hurt far worse, so we are just waiting on the Vet to let us know more information and we can go from there.
Reggie is still Reggie, crabby most of the time until he wants attention. And to clarify a few things, I posted last he weighed 10 lbs vs 13 lbs he weighed a few years ago, after I posted that I read the results I had and I must have misheard the assistant, he weighs 10.9 lbs, so it is only a 2 lbs loss over 3 years. Like that matters, just setting the record straight.
Ok, the Vet just called me, MRI’s are much more expensive then the camera in the nose, and after talking more the Vet thinks there is “less than a 50% chance it’s “goodâ€.
So I guess we will just wait since there is no point throwing $ into something that will not help do a damn thing but stress Reggie. Reggie’s age is the main factor in this, he is almost 13 and for a cat that’s pretty old. I just do not want to put him under more stress then he has to be under so we will just wait and see and go from there.
This totally sucks.
