Game Day

Just here watching the 1st of 2 games today.  It is hard to believe that after this all we have left is the Super Bowl.  =(  Even if I’m not watching the games intently, I like having them on in the background, so this sucks.  There really is no one team that I don’t like, but I don’t care of Rivers attitude from the Chargers….no sportsmanship.  That means a lot to me.  I really would love to see Green Bay make the Super Bowl and take the Patriots down.  Partly because the Patriots beat our Colts, the coaching staff has also been tarnished for me with them video taping the calls of other teams………that was low, but mainly because I would love to see Favre get one more ring and this may be one of his last chances. He has a hell of a year after last year.

Baby, it’s cold outside for NFC title game

McCarthy used some frozen balls at practice this week to help simulate likely conditions Sunday.

“Is that what was going on?” veteran wide receiver Donald Driver said with a laugh. “Basically, they never told us that the balls were coming out of the freezer, we just kind just felt it as we caught it: ’Wow, the balls are cold.’ We thought most likely the balls had been outside all day, but they were in the freezer.

**Makes sense to do, but I would’ve thought the players would’ve been informed about the freezer part………lol

So don’t go sleeveless? When told fellow end Justin Tuck was planning the same fashion statement as many of the Packers, the veteran Strahan shivered.

“I told him I’m wearing layers,” Strahan said. “These guys can wear short sleeves. I’m not trying to impress anybody. For what? Oh, I’m strong!

“I guarantee you Justin Tuck’s goose bumps will be bigger than his muscles.”

**I really like it when the players are able to be themselves and show their humor.  The NFL is very good of showing that side of the game.  I know it is just good PR on the NFL part, but without the players being who they are it wouldn’t succeed.

This year sucked for commercials during the football season.  I can’t stand beer, it is disgusting to me, but they usually have some interesting and entertaining commercials.  Coors has been the worst..the use of old NFL press conferences…..I race to hit the mute button………they have sucked big time.  I so hope that they don’t reuse them next year…..that keep ruining the game.

Separated Saudi couple sues to reunite

**And people have issues with the International Women’s Conference over the issue of abortion……..refusing to see that the majority of the issues that they face are issues such as this……..morons.

I had read the following articles over the last 2 weeks, playing on adding them here.  To me they are issues too big to be ignored.

War Torn, part 1

War Torn, part 2

**I firmly believe in personal responsibility, that this country has moved away from, but are so many things that are changed inside a person’s mind due to war.  Between what they see and the need to survive in the most primal way, it is no wonder that some of these veteran’s lose it.  It is so screwed up, because they are passed off into the VA system, which we all know sucked before the increase of current vets, so it is even worst.  I not going to get into that…..since it is a very sore subject with me. Then the victims of these horrible crimes get lost……..

Edwards On O’Reilly: ‘He Has No Idea What He’s Talking About’

**O’Reilly shows his stupidity again (I can’t use the word ignorance…….way too much of a understatement).  I love (NOT) people who act all patriotic and they know everything but in in their defense of failed policies and beliefs refuse to see the truth….the No Spin Zone??  He is nothing but spin…….huge, huge liar.  I just can’t stand the guy because he reminds me of a big ass lying bully…..Sweet Jesus, I Hate Bill O’Reilly anyone?  It really breaks down his bullshit.

Ronald Reagan Is Still Dead

**I’m so tired of them invoking Reagan……..he wasn’t all that great.  And none of the candidates have clue…..ggrrrr

Damn, New England just threw an interception in the end zone…….

Champs Bowl '06

Lazy & Unmotivated Day

After fixating on the brain numbing projects that I had, I am totally unmotivated today.  I usually have one these type of days once every week or two, so I don’t think that is too bad.  Not like I do it all the time.

We watched Purdue Men’s Basketball win over Illinois.  Been a long time since I actually paid attention to a BB game…..since the Pacers lost it after Reggie retired and the goofy decisions Purdue made with the men’s & women’s BB teams….I actually felt a little lost.

I’m actually trying to get my gumption up to go to the store.  I have a list going and most things can wait, but the milk can’t and if I go out for that I should get everything else and not waste a trip.  I’m also not going anywhere tomorrow…….can’t miss the Packers/Giants & the Patriots/Chargers.  So odds are that I’m getting off my ass in few and heading to the store.

I’m debating on whether I want to chill out and do some reading, I haven’t done that this week, or work on a few things……like emails and messages….when I get back.  I guess I have time to decide that. =)

Time Has Flown

Damn, my brain is fried….I spent so much time in the office working on bank reconciliations for last year the last few days.  I would print out transactions from each statement time period and compare them.  It took forever, but it made it easier when I went into quickbooks to do the reconciliation.  Found a few mistakes, about 90% of them happened in July & Aug when we were packing, moving and I was working outside of the house.  All the other changes were just adjusting for the bank accounting and my accounting.  But know that I know the system, it will be much easier to maintain.

Wow, between the all that and the normal 15th bills that I take care of I totally lost track of time.  I didn’t realize that I hadn’t posted since the 10th.

Huck’s Army: Young, Eager and Evangelical

Speaking about the need for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman this week, Huckabee said, “What we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family.”

**This is scary as hell.   James Madison, one of the main the writers of the Constitution, would be rolling in his grave.  You can also add John Adams, George Washington & Thomas Jefferson.  I so hope that Huckabee falls on his face in SC.  We don’t need some one making this country into a theocracy, just like the taliban.

Stand-Up Guy: John McCain’s Campaign Trail Comedy

**I like it when they give a little insight into the candidates.

Mitt Romney vs Glen Johnson aka Lies vs Truth

**I love this!  Calling him out!  Can someone explain how this journalist was being unprofessional?  As far as I can tell he was actually doing his JOB!  There are so many of them that don’t………remember the bullshit we have forced to believe from Bush and lying cronies?

Estranged husband is freed, then kills wife

**This is screwed up in so many ways!

Purdue Drum

Stupid Colts

What is with the Colts when they play the Bolts? They just seem to have our number; the Chargers are 9-3 all time in the RCA dome vs Indy…. WHAT THE FUCK?????

I am actually ok with today’s loss, I said the day the Raiders made the worse trade in NFL (and in all other sports) history when they GAVE Moss to the Pats for a 4th round draft pick, that the Pats would win it all this year so I have had almost a year to prepare for this. I really wanted to see a rematch of Indy vs the Pats, but it was not meant to be.

I will not be sad to see the Pats win, they have so many good players and to see someone like Junior Seau get a ring makes me all warm and fuzzy and there are a few ‘Boilers on that team as well as the Bolts and Cowboys, but I so despise TO so I just cannot root for the ‘Boys and I would LOVE to see the Packers make the Super Bowl which I think will happen if the Giants win today.

Go Giants! (Today only)
Go Packers! (Next Week and why not for the Super Bowl as well)
Go Pats! (Do what is expected)

Fear the Colts next year… WE WILL BE BACK!

How Do I Feel?: hopeful

The future is now…. We now have Hope….

Coach Hope that is.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/01/11/bc.fbc.purdue.tiller.ap/index.html

Purdue coach Joe Tiller will retire after next season and be replaced by new associate head coach Danny Hope.

Hope was 35-22 in five winning seasons at Eastern Kentucky. He was an offensive line coach on Tiller’s staffs at Wyoming and then Purdue, before leaving the Boilermakers after the 2001 season. In 2007, Hope led the Colonels to a 9-3 record and the Ohio Valley Conference title and was a Football Championship Subdivision Regional Coach of the Year.
_______________________

Pauline and I actually meet Coach Hope while he was still an assistant; she has met him many times when she worked near campus. We were flying to Dallas for a porn party and he sat next to us while he was on a recruiting trip. Real laid back and cool guy.

Rumors started last week that Purdue was looking at the offensive coordinator from Wisconsin and he would be the next coach, so all week long I have been thinking… what kind of team will he bring since his teams are not spread offense like Purdue has ran since 1997. Which, I couldn’t decide if that was good or bad. Purdue was the first in the Big Ten to run the spread, but we never got the real players we needed to make it work as it should. Brees was good at it, but still not the “ideal” Spread QB while someone like Tim Tebow of Florida is that kind of player…. but fuck I hate that guy.

So I think this is good. I am not sure if Tiller really wanted to retire, or if he was asked to retire, but it is time, but I just hope I don’t regret losing Tiller which will happen the first time we miss a bowl game under Hope.
