A Wet Day………..Normal =)

Yesterday was sunny, very clear and beautiful, of course, I woke up not feeling well. =( My head was just horrible feeling. I think it was because I did a quick run to the store Thursday evening and didn’t wear a hat. It was much chillier and windier, so that wasn’t a smart thing to do. So I didn’t go for my walk. =(

Today I feel much better, but it is rainy. Which really doesn’t make that much of a difference for walking, but when I go walking I like to bring a camera and see what I can catch. I don’t have that good of an eye to catch things when it is grey out.

I do think my break from the walk has helped my shins. Harold’s mom says that her shins hurt when she walks faster then normal, so I think it mine my be caused by that and the concrete of the sidewalks.

I was feeling a little better when I went to check the mail. So I grabbed Harold’s camera to see if I could get better pictures. They came out very well, I just need to remember to grab the zoom next time. =)

Mountains are so big, that the only thing that changes is the stuff in front of them. So it better much ends up being the same picture of it even though you moved a 100 ft to the left. In this set I left the pictures as they were originally taken and then cropped them, so the focus is more on the peak. The picture of the housing is just to show how far we live from where I took the pictures. We are about 500ft from it.

Mt. Hood

Last German WWI veteran dies at 107

**This is just sad how he was not even noticed. Then his death was overshadowed by the story of how Germans treat their history. But it is hard to imagine how to handle a history such as Germany’s. At the same time the majority of Americans ignore or do not wish to be educated about what we as a country did to the Native Americans or African Americans.

Unfocused

My shins are sore…the front of them. I’ve gone walking for the last 3 days and I don’t know if I changed my walk and that is why. It has been in the mid 30s, but sunny and breezy. So I bundle up and hit the road. Today I made sure I wore my scarf, because Harold has been saying that I look like a raccoon………lol……damn wind burn.

It is nice to change up my walk. The only thing that I don’t care for on this route is more noise from the traffic. My walks before were within the neighborhood, this route is following a main road……but it gives me a chance to see if I can get a better view of the ranges in the background. I did go further today and turned on to lesser used road, just walking for a better view. =)

Off the main road.

Damn tree was in the way…….lol

Just some very colorful landscape.

Been trying to get myself focused today and haven’t been succeeding very well. I need to make my to do list again….sometimes I don’t need it, sometimes my mind just won’t organize………annoying.

This is too fucking sad

Heath Ledger was found dead the Australian-born actor was 28.

I just got home and Pauline told me this and she said something so true. Media whores like Paris, Lindsay and anything Spears live forever, the talented and worthy die young.

This just plain sucks, I was a big fan of his and I am dying to see him as the Joker, my all time favorite comic villain. From what I’ve seen on the trailers Jack cannot hold a candle to this Joker… Heath acted exactly as the Joker was meant to be.

RIP… you died far too young.

Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC at Age 28

**This is just sad. We were stunned to hear this. We really liked him, had the potential to become one of the greats. Why does this happen to someone who is so talented?

Crossing Mayor Giuliani often had a price

**If you are thinking of voting for this guy, you have to read this……he sounds WORST then George W, more like a mob boss then a politician. =(

Fred Thompson Drops Presidential Bid
**I bet you didn’t see that coming……….lol

Bhutto’s niece wants end to ‘dynastic’ politics

**At least someone else is speaking the truth about the politics and Bhutto’s roll. Time magazine had a very good article on her true scarred legacy and how she was just as much part of the problem.

CNN readers respond angrily to ‘race or gender’ story

**I love this! Because these voters are refusing to be pigeionholed! It is so insulting to think that just because you are black or a woman that you will vote for a candidate. That is the issue that I had with Bhutto fans, just because she was a woman didn’t mean she helped women………she didn’t.

35 years after Roe: A legacy of law and morality

**This issue is never as simple as so many people make it out to be. The extreme right-to-lifers don’t want to acknowledge what a woman goes through on making a decision such as that. Overall, I don’t have a problem with someone believing in right-to-life, what I have an issue with is them telling everyone else what to do with their lives and their refusal to acknowledge that IF they would get their heads out of the sand and teach truthful sex education and give access to birth control they would really cut down the rate of abortion. Knowledge is power and preventive, when you give access to those who need it most.

I did get out for a walk today. Took me a bit to gear up, it was colder today then yesterday and windy. But it was beautiful out. I know most of the country has enough of their own ice, but here is a little bit of ours.

As you can see, most of our grass is still green.

Later I was in the bedroom looking outside the window and I looking at an awkward angle I was able to see Mt. Hood. Now let me explain something about myself.  My sense of direction is horrible.  The main road that leads to where we live curves and I easily lose which direction the mountain is.  So I really thought that it was more to the left of us, on the other side.  Never thought I would be able to see it from that window.  Doesn’t help that it is normally covered in clouds…….lol

So when I went to go check the mail, I walked on to the end of that part of the neighborhood to where one of the main roads are and saw this.

I know that the 2 pictures look same, but there is enough of a difference that I don’t know which one I like the best.  I was just happy as hell that I finally got to get a picture of it!

I found this time-lapse video about what I was seeing yesterday! I love that we moved here. =)

**The sad is for the death of Heath Ledger.

Stunning Day

I’m trying not to lose track of the days as I did last week.  =)

I was disappointed that the Packers lost.  I was thinking it was partly due to the fact that the Giants practiced this past week outside, while the Packers practiced inside.  But Torn pointed out that the Packers never really had a running game, which is true.  So we have 2 weeks before the Patriots and the Giants face off…..not sure who I really want to win.  I do know that I just want a good game………I HATE blow out games for the Championship.

Historians Fear MLK’s Legacy Being Lost

**This is true, never everyone remembers the 1st few words of his famous speech but they forget the other causes he took up………poverty and ‘Nam.  I remember class discussions on those in college, but the general public collective memory just glosses over it.

Dungy staying, at least through 2008

**Thankfully we got him for one more year.  Hopefully it will also help in the transition of Caldwell.

Obama fights back against Bill Clinton

**This is getting old between Bill Clinton and Obama.  I think Bill Clinton is making it worst for his wife and may leave issues that Hillary & Obama won’t be able to overcome to work together.  Which would be a big disappointment.  =(

Today was a gorgeous day.  We are getting the cold at night…….no where near the cold that Green Bay or Minnesota’s gets, but still pretty cold.  Today got up to the mid 30s and it was clear.  When I was out and about, I got some stunning views of the snow covered Mt. Hood.  It was almost crystal clear. You could faintly see snow being blown from the very top.  It was something else.  I would love to have more days like that…….of course, it makes for much colder nights.  =)
