Here In Indiana

We lost all our snow, within a few days after my arrival. =( With all that was going on, I wasn’t able to get any pictures. I told my mom that I didn’t want much snow, just a brushing to cover the brown fields to give a more holiday feeling. Of course, there is snow headed this way on Saturday, the day I fly out……….I think it isn’t due until after I fly out, but……it will be interesting.

Yesterday Mom & I headed over to a bookstore, I got each of my nieces and nephew a book. Then we went xmas shopping. I did pretty good and got all those wrapped this evening.

My folks live out in the country and just got off of dial up about year or so ago………so when coming home from the shopping we are on the back farm roads speeding along. You occasionally see a cop, but very, very rarely, because most of them are in more populated areas, there isn’t that much noticeable crime in the middle of a corn field. =) But we did come across someone trying to escape a sheriff and a few others……….this someone had 4 legs, long tail and brown and white markings…..lol….it was funny. Some how he got out of his trailer and was wondering around, nibbling here and there and not allowing the 4-5 plus the sheriff to catch him. Found a posting of it in the police blotter and it looks like that horse was lose for about 2-3 hrs before we saw him……….lol

I went to dinner with Jessie & Michelle and their husbands last night. That was cool. Just sitting around at one of my favorite restaurants chilling and chatting.

Afterwards I stopped by an electronic store so I can get my dad a new router. He had this d-links wireless but it keep disconnecting, so he would have to hardwire into his modem and non of the other computers would be able to get on. He never lost connection through the modem and he had very thing else connected correctly, so I figured it had to be the router. So I got him the one that has worked for us for years and comcast even recommended, the linksys wireless g……..well, I got it going. =) Now dad just needs to get a wireless card for my mom’s pc or get a new hardware for it (the old wire wasn’t working, I tested it with mine). And now I can actually get online without having to hardwire and surf at a decent speed (sprint card very, very slow and unstable out here).

I’m pretty proud that I got it working, that is something that Harold works on more then me. I’m used to seeing him to it and in my day jobs I was always the one on the phone with tech support trying to get our networks/internet going when there where issues. I usually just need some time to logically think about it and I normally figure it out. I’m also happy that there was one thing that I could help my dad with. He works so much around the house and his job, that when it comes to things like this he is just too exhausted to work on it. So the router was pretty much his present……….grin

Surprisingly, I picked up some presents for Harold. I wasn’t planning on doing that until back home. =) So now I need to figure out how to get some of it home. But today I had to head into town to pick up our pizzas. I want to freeze them up tonight before I ship them out, well there is some room in that box, so I figured that some of the presents will fit perfectly in there. Thankfully, because I don’t want to try and fit that in my luggage………icks.

Tomorrow I have one other errand………..which sucks, because I really tried to get them done today. Then I’ll just hang with my family while I can. I have to head to bed very early. My flight is at 0630, so I need to leave here about 0400……icks. I HOPE that I’m somewhat alive when I’m waiting, made I can get some of my work done. I have pretty much kept with one of my things to the best that I could while out here and not having a printer. But the other one is a little be more involved and I really need to be at my desk focusing on it.

I’m going to attempt to get up when the kids do for school, just to help on my sleeping, so I’m close.
