Working & NewsFlash

I did actually get some work done today. Mainly catchup work, I’ll top it off tomorrow and then start on my project that I really want to get done but is mind numbing.

As I posted Saturday morning, I figured out how to rip our dvds and convert them so I can put on to my iPod. I’m very proud of that. I still have an occasional bug……….out of 4 movies I only have one not showing up in my itunes. I don’t know if I goofed a setting during the conversion. So I may just redo have it converting when I go to bed. I was very surprise how small the conversion made an 90-120 min movie. I just may put the LOTR movies on it………….I have 9GB left…..and I can sync a few titles at a time and free up room.

I found out how to put our dvds on my iPod through a book I picked up while in Florida, just didn’t have the time to attempt. While going through it, I found instructions for cutting and editing song in iTunes, so now I can make real song ringtones. =) Going to try that soon.

It as been raining here, no surprise, but what is surprising that it has been the heavy constant rain with winds. It usually is just drizzle.

At least Purdue won today. The campus looked great when they showed shots of it.

Here are some news stories:

Couple Make Burglar Clean Up At Gunpoint

***This is classic! What is screwed up is the dumb thief gripping about been made to clean up? He is so lucky he didn’t get shot!!!

Rowling Lets Dumbledore Out of the Closet

***I love this! One of the things I loved about those books was the teaching of tolerance and understanding. Of course, the right-wing “Christians” don’t believe in tolerance…..but then the majority of them would have stoned Jesus, since he was messenger for tolerance.

Cries of abuse, outrage erupt at church

***Women getting the courage to confront an abuser.

And that is the news………….lol

Bowl Eligible

6-2 with today’s win, that means Bowl #10 over the last 11 years. Prior to 1997, Purdue has been to 5 bowls total in 109 years, since Tiller, we have had 7 straight bowls and now 3 straight.

So close to getting to the BCS, but still so far.

And I know, there was only a hand full of Bowls back in the day, and it would have been more Bowls had the Big Ten not have had the BS rule of no “back to back” Rose Bowls, but this is such a great thing when you remember 13 straight years of losing, and losing badly in many cases.

Tiller needs to improve on his 3-6 bowl record though, only 1 blowout, but two years in a row we was up 20+ and lost, and we got down 20+ and ALMOST came back… to UG who was down 21 and came back on us 2 years earlier…. fuckers.

Hiding & iPod Work

It took me a few days but I finally got my itunes organized.  It got so screwy because I did have the itunes program on my external, it was on my laptop and the music was on the external………..so when I had to reformat and didn’t move the itunes over……..totally goofed it.  I had to totally reimport the library and then delete about 20GB of duplicates.  I have about 11.5 GB left on my 80 GB ipod………which is totally incorrect to begin with since it has only 74 GB usable.  So I’ve been playing around with that.  We had brought a few new cds the other day that I haven’t heard because to get them on to my ipod I would need to resync it and lose what I had.  So I reorganized it to the way I wanted it.  Took over 2hrs for my ipod to sync up and get everything transfered over.

Tomorrow I really need to get my head into some work.  I have just been wanting to hide from everyone right now…….

We got our ballot in the mail today for the special election.  It is really cool that they do voting by mail.  Oregon has the highest voter participation because of it.  Now I just need to pick up some stamps for it.

Well………..that is all I have…….

Just Working

Been busy as heck the last 2 days with work. Nothing exciting, just time consuming and eye blurring. I didn’t get my walk in today, probably should have, but I am under in calories today so it balanced out. I did get my walk in yesterday. =)

Portland is known as the City of Roses, but we are in a town on the outskirts so there is some, but not as much as the city. I did come cross a few on my walk. Most of them are very close to the houses and if I got any closer to take pictures they would probably think I was a burglar…………lol I did luck out and find one blooming near the sidewalk so I made my amateur attempt of getting a good shot.

Just trying to be artsy-fartsy…….lol

I just couldn’t resist the leaves. =)

Harold called his folks yesterday. Found out one their dogs, a malamute, got it bad from a porcupine. =( Over 1500 quills….3 different sizes. The vet got him taken care of, but there are more of them moving out of his nose and skin. The poor baby…..he is doing better, it has been 2 weeks.

I finally got our cell phones changed to a local number. We were just waiting on a few loose ends from Florida……..namely from our former landlord. That is now all taken care of, feels good. We will have these numbers, hopefully, for the next several years.

I went to all the accounts off of the top of my head and got that info changed, I know I must have missed a few but it is start. I also remembered to get our numbers listed on the Do No Call Registry : https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

I emailed everyone I could think of about the change and I text everyone. But I did goof on that, I texted everyone who were in the Est time zone not remembering that it was about 11pm their time! oops……..sorry everyone. My uncle called to chat when he got it. That was cool and he is in central time, so it was only about 10 there.

Tomorrow is going to be an errand day. I hope to get off my ass and start early…….we’ll see, I’m going to hold my breath. =)
