I know, I know……….I’ve been horrible here. =( I just haven’t felt like writing with as busy as I have been.
Well, the house is nearly packed. It is crazy……all full of boxes. I’m here in the bedroom, I just had to get out of the office for a little while.
We had a corporate visit Wednesday. It went very well. I even got a hug from my district boss with an offer for any references or recommendations that I need. That was so cool.
I had friends over from work for a bbq last Thursday. Started later then I thought but it was fun. I had folks show up that I wasn’t sure would, so that just tickled me pink. Unfortunately, some of us got eaten up by bugs. My legs have bites all up and down them….icks.
After that day I was really able to start on some of the packing…..it is hard sometimes. I just look at it and want to scream…I don’t know where to begin sometimes. I really, really hate the disorganization of it. Drives me crazy. There is all these little things that need to be put together….then the clothes…icks! I keep trying to minimize and it just doesn’t work…..
I had a very cool encounter with a customer Friday. Found out that she was visiting from Alaska and that she knew my old orchestra teacher from 7-9th grade! Talk about a small world. I gave her my info so she can give it to him. That just tickled me pink………….grin
I’m the type that never really associates with people that work with me, much less for me outside of work. I’m always concern about crossing that line and inviting more issues. I’ve always been a loner even though I love spending time talking with people. But with me only have a couple of more days and I had stepped down over the month that I figured why not. =) So I went and meet a few co-workers for pool Saturday night. Of course, I sucked at it…….I’ve only played maybe 3 other times in my life. But it was cool.
Today proved that it was Monday…….ggrrrr I’ve been hearing noises from the front of my truck and Harold from the exhaust. I knew there was no way in hell that it was going to be cheap…..but it ended up a hell lot more then I expected………about $1000 more…….a total of $1903! What timing…..I can’t even spell out everything that needs to be done. The parts aren’t that much, but the labor…..
Well, it won’t be done until Wednesday…..just in time for Harold to take it to Portland Thursday. So we had to get the rental car a few days earlier. The good thing is that AAA membership gave us a discount so we didn’t have too much more. =) Brooke was a sweetie and took me to the rental car place. She was a life saver. =)
I got some more packing done today, entered our receipts (less to carry later) and spent a ton of time on the phone getting utilities hooked up out in Oregon and unhooked here Florida. But I think I got everything, except the gas & cable/internet in Oregon. Those can wait until we actually get there.
My brain just died…………lol So I guess I can close.
ps……I want my football season to start!!!!

The 2 companies I hate dealing with more then anything else is Sprint and Dell, and I had to deal with both in a 24 hour period.
I already cried over my sprint crap, we had lost signal a 3rd time later that night for at least another 2 hours but once again I had to deal with Dell last night. We were watching the Daily Show and all the sudden my Dell started making loud noises and vibrating. The fan sounded like it blew up, so I confirmed that nothing was in the fan blades, cleaned it out with air, rebooted and still, sounds like it was grinding.
Joy.
So I go to the Dell site, log into my admin, confirm I have a warranty for another 2 years and then went to the live help chat, I waited 20 minutes and got a tech, told him my issues and what I did and that I *MUST* have this fixed since I leave in a week for 2 months.
So I was asked to download some crap so they could run test on my laptop and man that totally freaked me out. All the sudden my mouse moves and windows open and things are typed…. Freaky!
Then they had to call me since I had to shut down my laptop and we booted it into test mode and ran a fan test and sure enough, my video fan is dead. I think it is VERY cool that I have something can perform test on my hardware and we don’t have to sit here guessing.
So the good news is a tech is coming to my home no later then Monday, the fan wont hurt my pc, so not a huge deal, but still, get it fixed while we can. And I must say this was the best experience I have had with Dell, the less I have to talk to a person the better, I was having to re read what they wrote but I got the gist of most of it, so I guess this is the way to deal with it, don’t call them, let them call you.
