Long Day……..

Damn, my feet hurt from work.  But the good news is the my stitches are out and I was able to go swimming this evening.  =)

The doctor says it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to fully heal.  I was afraid that I had over did my 1st few days back at work.  But along as I take breaks that being active will help heal them quicker.  The activity keeps the wrong ligaments from healing together. He says my feet still have swelling around the problem area.  He says I’m doing great and even canceled my next appointment.  All I have is my final appointment on the 15th before we move.  So that is cool.

Tomorrow I’m going to get my nails done and enjoy myself.  =)

Got a Little More Done

I feel kind of useless on getting things done, but I actually got more done today then yesterday.

We started early today on our errands.  We headed to Petsmart to get some harnesses and leashes for the Reggie & Alexis.  We then head over to a few other stores to make sure we didn’t need anything.  Finished off with doing some shopping for household things.  Boy do my feet hurt.  I think I lost one of my stitches, one of the other sets seems irritated.

I got the rest of my dresser packed.  For those who don’t know, my dresser has a hutch that is great for knick-knacks but is a pain on packing.  So that is a project in of itself.  I then got a few things organized in the spare room and then it was on to the master bathroom.  I got everything cleared out from underneath the sink.  I threw out a lot of old stuff, cleaned out my underwear and old bra drawer.

So I actually got some things done.  But I’m so annoyed over the fact that my movement is restricted due to my feet.  I could get so much done if I didn’t have to sit so much and be distracted by the discomfort.  I’m just so hoping that by next week, that the discomfort will be minimal, because I really need to attack other areas of the house…….like the office closet, the rest of the spare room and closet, the mess that I call our walk in closet…..icks.

I never did go to the bank and get done what I need to get done.  Unfortunately the business I need to get done is not some thing that I can just run in and take care of.  I will have to spend a bit of time and I really just don’t feel like doing it.

Blah……..that about sums everything up…..

Long Weekend

It has been a long weekend.  Worked everyday since Thursday, which in of itself is no big deal, but with my feet……ow.  They are much better…a little bit every day, but they can only handle so much.  So I sat down a lot more then usual, but my co-workers were very supportive.  My calves don’t hurt no where near what they were feeling……..I’m no longer afraid of them locking up.  The good thing about working so much, is that it has gradually forced me to walk better…..it is almost normal.  I have Monday & Tuesday off, so hopefully it’ll help with my recovery and (fingers crossed) my stitches come out Wednesday.  =)

Tomorrow is an online work day.  Luckily, I already got a huge amount of it done tonight, so I’m pleased with that.  I hope to be able to break up the day with a little bit of packing here and there.  Trying to decide if I’m going to mop the floors, they really do need it.

The pc screen is now a blur……..blog with you later.

About Time

My bandages are off! Unfortunately I still have the stitches….which I was hoping to get rid of. I can’t go swimming (no soaking) but I can take normal get clean showers. Which is hard enough to stand and not move too quickly.

My feet remind me of frankstein….I have stitches on both sides of my heels (which I thought it was only going to be on one side) and a big ass ugly bruise down the inside of my feet following my tendon. I may take pics, I haven’t decided.

I can wear regular tennis shoes. But I’m walking funny. Going to take time to get over my tenderness and learn how to walk correctly…..those boots with bandages mess you up that way.

I worked a shift today……had to sit down a lot and my feet are tender. But what really, really hurts is my calves. Because of not walking regularly for a week, walking funny and still walking funny……damn, they hurt. I put some bengay on them hoping that I don’t lock up tonight.I work the next few days…..I should be able to work it out……..some how.

I get my stitches out next week and I’m hoping that I’m almost back to normal on my walking. I really need to attack the bedroom and bathroom for packing. And I’m starting to stress what we need to keep out for our move.

We finalized our place out in Portland the other day. What a huge, huge stress reliever. It is actually just outside of Portland, but nice and we can easily take the public transit to the city. We want to try and not drive as much, a little more enviromentally friendly. It is a 2 story townhouse, 3 bed, 2.5 bath (we have to have at least 1.5), 1 car garage with a gas fireplace. Just dawned on us today to see about having air……….nope it doesn’t. Central air is not something that is standard out there. Us living in the Indiana and then Florida…..it is given. But we shouldn’t be needing it more then a week a year……so we’ll just use fans.

Here is an ad that has the same set up (it won’t last, so check it out) :

We are thinking it will give us time to get to know the area better on where we want to live. It is kind of hard doing it online. =)
