Last Post of 2006!

Time for catch up.

I was working Thursday night when Harold called and to let me know that Jessie & Chris got delayed in Atlanta by an hour  So we figured that if I got off in time that I could go up with him to pick them up.  So I was psyched…………then as the night went on, there was no way.  I had to call Harold and told him that he needed to go without me.  =(  I was so pissed, any other night it would’ve been no big deal.  But I hadn’t seen them in years and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.

When they got here, we ended up staying up really late playing catch up.  Which lead to sleeping in later then planned, but it was all good.  =)  We took them to a local place for some food and headed to the beach just to do some Floridian things……..grin  Then it was time to get ready for the game.

It was so great to be with fans of football and it was even better to be with Purdue fans.  We haven’t been to a game in years.  It was so great to see all the black and gold.  When we had ordered the tickets we had just picked best seat available.  Didn’t discovered until after we ordered them that we ended up in the ACC section!!  We were afraid we would be surrounded totally by the Terps………instead we were surrounded by Purdue fans!!!

As time went on we discovered that they were all ticketmaster purchasers like us, who picked best seats available.  Well, Purdue was decided on 2 weeks before Maryland so all the Purdue fans took up the section that was meant for them………..grin  It was great.

We loved it!  We were with people that knew Purdue history and football!  Who knew the traditions of our game, the band and the fight song.  It was seventh heaven.  It was the only thing that we missed from Indiana that wasn’t family.

Unfortunately, we lost.  =(  But it was still fun.

And we also had a great visit!  I’m so glad that they came down and stayed an evening with us.  I miss talking to Jessie.  I can’t wait to go to their wedding and get to see Michelle!

I had to work today, very early…….on 5 hours of sleep……so I feel a little loopy right now.  I just want to stay up long enough to meet the new year.  Thankfully I have tomorrow off.  So I can finally get my emails done.

But what I’m really looking forward to my 1st weekend off since Oct 1st! Which will be next weekend.   Not only do I have that weekend off, but I have 2 personal days that I have to use.  I have a total of 5 days off together!

I’m so looking forward to it.  We have the championship game the on 8th to watch (I even did my nails in Ohio State colors for it……grin).  I’m also going to schedule my spa time, but 1st I need to find out what games are playing when so I can do it around them.

Once I get some sleep and not so loopy, I can remember all the things I want to get done.  =)

Time to close.

I hope everyone has a safe & fantastic New Years!

(Just to use a bad pun I rarely use………….)

I’ll chat with you next year…………grin

Looking Back on 2006

Not a bad year really, it started off horribly with losing Aurora in January, but she was 17+ and gave us many good years with her constant bitching and just over all snobbish “I’m better then you” attitude, er… CATtitude. Still, I miss the skanky beast and her bad breath and that damn tail flicking on my mouse and keyboard as I try to work.

We had a great 2 weeks out west in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, it was so much fun we decided we want to move out there permanently so we are preparing to move out west and with that itself will be a huge undertaking and life changing.

Sports wise, Pacers are still sucking, even after we got Al Harrington back, who should never have been traded in the first place, and we could have traded a pussy Jermain Oneal for a tough mofo like Al Iverson, but nooooo…. That would make me happy.

Colts started great and then became the Colts again, so I expect another early exit from the playoffs, but I still really love Manning and Harrison, greatest QB/WR combo in history. And who can not love the Saints? Fucking Drew Brees is the man and what a feel good story of the year. I was sad to see him leave the Chargers, and I knew he would make the Saints better, but I was thinking at best 8-8 and not the #2 seed in the NFC with a 10-5 record.

Purdue Football… lol, where to start? 8-6 this year, but more like 4-10, just no heart and passion, this goes from the coaches to the players. Still we had a really good time at the Champs Bowl. We sat with good people, had some Pop Warner football at the start which was 5-7 year olds in full pads playing, place went nuts when a kid threw a 10 yard TD pass. I had no idea they even made pads that small, and the fireworks was amazing all night long, some of the best I’ve seen and I am not a fan of fireworks.

We also got to meet some friends face to face for the first time  and made new ones and became closer to some old friends and of course everyone we work with who have taken us to new heights and new directions then we have ever been.

This is actually a lot harder to write then I thought it would be, I am really struggling with trying to remember what all has gone down for us in 2006 and I am drawing a blank lol.

So I will close this for now, I know 2007 will be huge for us in so many ways and we look forward to changes and can not wait when we don’t have to make plans 6 months in advance to go visit our friends who live on the west coast. We can just get in our car and go.

Peace to all and have a safe and happy New Years.

Busy, Busy

Alright, I have been a busy bee.

When I got home yesterday, we headed out for an errand that ended up being  a waste of time.  =(
When we got home, I attacked the Xmas tree.  It took me about 3 & half hours to put it up and together, just over 2 hours to tear it down and out it away.  Got the living sweep up from all the tree stuff, changed the litters, started laundry, cleaned up the spare room and cleaned up my corner of the office.

I also got a hold of Jessie, who is coming down with her fiancee Chris for the Purdue game and we want to see them.  So instead of them staying Orlando tonight, Harold is going to pick them up from the airport and they are going to spend the night.  Tomorrow we will take them to the zoo & beach around here, because at this time of the year Orlando is just so over priced, filled with tourist and we really don’t know it that well.

Afterwards, we will take them to their hotel for check in and then head to the game.  Our seats aren’t together but we enjoy it all before we get seated.  I’m so hyped for this.  I haven’t seen her since we moved.  She use to work for me at Fannie May Candies, before our company went down. She got her degree from Purdue & her Masters from IU.  So I’m proud of her.

They are getting married in April and I’ve already requested it off.  =)  I’m so upset that I missed Michelle & Gary’s wedding, that I’m sure in hell not missing this one.  Plus, Michelle will be there………grin

I won’t be able to get to any emails until Sunday night/Monday.  With having company, the game, and then working this weekend there is no way I’ll be able to get to any of it.

Alright, I need to get myself ready for work.  See you on the other side.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Yes, yes…………I’m 33 years young……grin

Dad called me when I was on the way to work. Singing happy birthday to himself, like he always does, while I tell him that it isn’t his b-day, it’s mine………..grin

Harold was a sweetie and got me a gift card to the spa I love, because he knows if he gave me the money I would probably spend it on a bill………grin He made us up some of those omaha steaks we have and also got me one of those tasty banana cheese cakes from the CheeseCake Factory……with some candles and all. It may not have had 33 of them, but it looked like it was on fire!

Sandee at work made me a chocolate cake from scratch. It was great. I told everyone that they have to help me eat it, there is just no way for me to eat it all. She also let me go home a little early, so that was cool. =)

So we spent the evening chilling and working on converting our music for my Ipod. I also got some pictures uploaded on it, like Harold’s basic and one of dad in ‘Nam. They looked great on it. I figured on my next day off after the holidays that we will use the gift card that mom & dad sent for an evening out. And I’ll use my spa certificate on my personal days.

Well, I do have to work tomorrow morning, so I need to get my ass on to bed. =)

Xmas Presents

I know, I know, I’ve been posting fool…………….grin But that is okay, I probably I won’t post for a week or two knowing my pattern.

Here is Harold & I unwrapping our presents. Yes, I smile like a dork………….lol I also took pictures of the gifts I got from work. I love what I got………..look at that Tigger mug…..it is huge. That is going perfect for Portland and the chilly weather when I fill it up with hot cocoa or soup. =)
