Vote!!!

In half of the states, tomorrow is election day. Some states, like Florida, had early voting. For those who didn’t take advantage of it……….vote!!!! I don’t care if you don’t agree with me politically (even though I’d rather have my candidates win……..lol) you need to vote. Get yourself heard.

I feel that you have no right to bitch about the state of things if you don’t get off your ass and vote. People have died and are still dieing for that right.

For being a “leader” and supposed spokes country in the world for the case of democracy, this country has some of the lowest turn out rates, even during a Presidential year. People in third world countries do a better job then we do when it comes to voting. And many of those people risk like and limb just get to the polls. So don’t be apathic, get off your ass and vote!!

Democracy only works when everyone is heard.

A Beautiful Sunday

It was a beautiful day out. Sunny, breezy and in the 70s. But I didn’t get to spend that much time outside to enjoy it. Instead we ad our windows opened so we can enjoy it.

Today I got about 90% of our receipts entered, my desk cleaned up (the cubby holes), some of my portion of the office reorganized and helped Harold shave our youngest cat, Reggie. His fur undercoat is so fine that he knots up, so we shave him to thin it out.

I feel good that I was able to get some work done, I love an organized desk. Now if I could do that for our closet and my 2 “misc” dresser drawers………..I need to just take a week off.

Here are just a few things I would love to have done in the long run….
1. Organize all the letters and cards that I’ve received over the years.
2. Organize and “Rubbermaid” up all my hundreds of books that I have in the garage.
3. Scan all of our wedding pics. (that would take forever)
4. Render our wedding videos on to the pc.
5. Our closet (that I’m hoping to do when Harold is out of town).

I can have hope that one day I will get to it all………..lol

My dad called yesterday. Dad was happy that he finally has DSL. He was always one who likes to be at the front of technology, but with where they live they finally got the chance to move away from dial up. So now that he has DSL, he was in the process of trying to network his computers and I sent him to tigerdirect.com for the things he needed. He was like a kid in a candy store at that site……….grin

4 Days Left

Well, I got a few things done. I got caught up on some computer work, went to the store. I tried to get into entering our receipts but really didn’t feel like it. I just looked at the pile and was like “this sucks”. So I put it away for another day.

I did spend time trying to catch up on my Time magazines that have been piling up. Laundry has been washed, just needs to be put away. I’m planning on doing that after the world news.

A few days ago, Harold agreed to a business trip. He is going to be gone for 11 days, including for Thanksgiving. We’ve only been apart a few times in our years together. So it will be different. After today, I only have 4 days off with him before he leaves.

I’ve been trying to think of what I will do to keep busy when he is gone, besides work my day job. There is my holiday cards, maybe organize our closet or things in the garage because in the long run it will make our move easier. Maybe I’ll just do some reading.

Time to put away the laundry.

You may think you speak “Standard English straight out of the dictionary” but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like “Are you from Wisconsin?” or “Are you from Chicago?”  Chances are you call carbonated drinks “pop.”
