13 Years……..

Wow, it is hard to believe that it has been 13yrs since Harold and I meet. It was a long night of talking and getting to know each other……..

Here is to 13 more. =)

Day Off

Today was a little bit more productive, not as much as I would’ve liked. If I had left the office sooner for the patio, I would’ve done much better. But we are still trying to catch up on all of our programs that we recorded while we were on vacation. I have a love/hate relationship with the tv……..I hate the way it ties me down and distracts me, but there are a few shows that I love to see and gives me the laughter I need. It is annoying….

Harold got his rollerblades a few days ago and today we went out and tried to learn how to use them. I can get a good glide going, but I don’t know if my blades are too big or something. Because I’m fighting the blades to do what I want, they keep turning out. Torn is wondering if the blades are too tight and that is why I’m not moving as smoothly as I should. It was starting to piss me off, cuz I know I can do it. I can feel that I’m close, but it feels like I’m fighting them.

I use to roller stake a lot when I was a kid and was pretty quick on them. Hell that is all I did for 4yrs was to go to the roller rink with my friends. So I know I can do it.

I got my vacation pics from the sony up for my family and updated a few things. Laundry, emails and a few messages got answered. That leaves vacation pics from the nikkon to do, balancing the check book, receipts, upload mood icons & I still need to the pics from this summer done for my family.

I’m going to make my to do list for next my next day off. So I have a game plan. I’m a game plan type of person; once I have one I can get so much done. I just haven’t been able to focus on one lately.

Well, I need to head to bed. I have an early and long day tomorrow.

Vacation Pictures

Here are some of our vacation pictures. These sets were taken with my little Sony Cybershot. I still need to get around to gallerying up the ones that Harold took with his Nikkon.

Rollerblades…

Almost 3 years ago I bought Pauline some rollerblades for her Birthday, the idea was I was going to get me a pair and we would use them to get in shape and get outside and have fun. Where I bought them also had a few pairs in my size as well that day, but I did not want to buy them for me since “its her birthday” and not mine, so I was going to wait a few days/week.

Naturally when we went to get me a pair, they no longer carried my size, so for the past 2+ years we been on a half assed search for a pair that would fit me, we were looking, but not really “looking”.

Well, my gut has been getting larger and larger so I wanted to get more exercise, so I finally found a pair on EBay for $30 which was a great deal, since they was used once and came in the original box that was marked $100. I tried them as soon as they got here not thinking ahead that I was still in my office at the time.

First time I almost died wearing rollerblades was on the kitchen tile trying to get out the door to the porch, the second time I almost died was trying to go around the 450+ degree gas grill Toni started to make us lunch, the third time was trying to not fall into the pool, the forth time was while trying to avoid the pool almost nailing the 7’ cactus and the fifth time was trying to turn “uphill” from the downward slant in the patio and instead going right off a 12” drop off.

I sat down and realized I just avoided 5 bad accidents and that I should not push my luck until I get some pads, and took them off and went back inside in my socks.

Yesterday we bought me some pads and today we went to the park and found a somewhat quite area and we taught ourselves to rollerblade and no one fell down, but man oh man, we both came close. We are both somewhat sore in odd parts of our bodies, mainly from swinging our arms like a chicken trying to fly so we wouldn’t bite the dust. We learned a lot today, but still have a ways to go to be worthwhile.

My feet hurt more then I thought they would but over all it’s not too bad. We are going back to the park Monday to get more time in, and hopefully we will soon be to the point where we can do 1-2 laps around the park, which I think is just under a mile per lap, the first thing we want to make sure we can actually skate and not wave our arms like chickens, then we will progress from there.Current Mood: content

I’m Alive

I’m sorry that I haven’t been updating as frequently as I should. Between work and everything else, it just wasn’t going to happen.

Today was a very well earned day off. We did the early voting thing that they do here in Florida, did some errands and caught up on some of our DVR recordings. I really need to make a list, since I’m not getting anything accomplished.

I really like the early voting. It helps when it comes to work scheduling.

We had a cold front move in temporarily, it was nice. It got into the 40/50s overnight and in the 60s during the day, it was beautiful. No air condition, windows open and yet still able to have that chill in the air that we need to sleep.

I had just put on our flannel sheets a few days before and it was perfect for snuggling into. I love the softness of it. Some of my favorite material.

Unfortunately, the cold front didn’t last. So now we are stuck having the air on so we can sleep. http://katvixen.com/Blog/wp-images/smilies/verysad.gif
