Wow, it has been a long week. Between work and adjusting our routine around the kids. Harold and the kids are adjusting to each other.
I’ve been trying to have the oldest 2 to take time out to read. We have been limiting the amount of TV and trying to get them to play outside when it isn’t too hot.
Today we racked up the yard and then spent some time in the pool.
The Heather wasn’t allowed in the pool very long since she decided to dive in. The pool is about 5’8″ in the center and she dived at the shallow end. So Harold told her that she was done for the day swimming. Later I asked did she knew why she wasn’t suppose to dive and she answered, so she doesn’t hit her head and have to go to the hospital. I then further explained the different things that could happen to her if she hurt head. I told her that reason why Uncle Haorld was so upset was that we are scare of her hurting herself. She did good and didn’t cry during it. So I believe she understood.
Later on that evening I had to have the conversation with the Cheyanne on why she has to sit like a lady when wearing a skirt. Which led to the conversation that no one wants to have with their kids, but with all the sick people out there you have to have it to protect them.
I did sit down and had them to a few of the pages in their work books that I got them. I need to have the Cheyanne start working on some of the stuff the teacher sent home with her this summer. I love that they show interest in learning and doing the work. Even if they use the work books for getting my individual attention. It is great way to get them to learn.
We are watching the news and I’m getting annoyed. All the stories of people’s personal and credit information getting stolen and comprised. My dad is a vet, so I’m worried about his credit and we’ve used hotel.com, so now I’m concerned about ours. What is wrong with people?
I’m expecting a call from mom & dad so they can say good night to the kids. I don’t know if they plan on calling every night while they are here or just for the 1st week or so.

I have been trying to use my Nikon D70s as much as I can, but the problem is I get sidetracked and never think of going outside when I should until its way too late in the day. And I just recently learned how to take long exposure shots but of course, the night I learned how to do that was cloudy and it has been since.
I took 12 night shots and just 1 turned out decent which is of the street light we see in our backyard just a little before midnight with a 17 sec exposure, not too bad but Id rather be taking pics of stars and sky etc but the rainy season has begun here, as soon as we get the chance I want to head to the beach late at night and get some pics of the stars.
One of many lizards I have not managed to kill yet. I shot this with my 70-300mm lens, she/he is actually a small one 4″ maybe, the big one took off when I tried to get closer.
