‘Boiler Up!

Purdue wins 49-24 over Akron, next week will be a tough one, @ AZ who is said to have a really good defense, hopefully it will be on TV, I had to rely on ESPN gamecast to get a “live” update and it messed up a few times, one sec it was 42-24 and then it was 28-7 so I was pretty happy. Notre Dame dominated Michigan today, what a joke the “mighty” UM D was, it was suppose to be dominate, and their offense is just plain bad, Henne needs to be replaced, a kid who went to the same school as I did is the 3rd QB for UM, he was “Mr. Indiana” in Football and Baseball, so the kid is athletic, hopefully he will get his chance.

We have Notre Dame in 3 weeks, we have won the last 3 years and I so want #3 in a row this year. Purdue is said to have a weak schedule with no Michigan or Ohio State, but I do not think any schedule in the Big Ten is ever weak. I am still not convinced ND is that good, Pitt was/is awful, and UM isn’t much better, I do think ND has a incredible Defense, but then, so do we.

We are watching Ohio State and Texas, go Buckeyes! I hate Texas…. So far 22-16 OSU, but a lot of game left.

Maryanne and Joel are coming down for a BBQ and NFL tomorrow, I’m looking forward to it, been a while since we seen them, it will be a beautiful day, Sunday Football, … what more could I ask?

Have a good weekend….

WOOHOO! Texas turnover!….

Happy College Football Saturday!

We are watching the N.D./Michigan game…..can’t believe how bad Michigan is playing. Unfortunately Purdue is not on national tv, so Harold has a link up to ESPN for what is happening. We have the Ohio St/Texas game later tonight….we need Ohio St. to redeem the Big Ten from last year.

Thursday night we went out to wally world after I got off of work. With it being the height of hurricane season & with us burning all of our candles to get rid of the dog smell that was here when we moved in, we needed some supplies. So we picked up some candles, lamp oil, a battery operated lantern, unscented bleach, another flash light and I treated myself to some new sheets (the ones we have are several years old).

Harold has been making ice for the last few weeks. We have 3 big rubbermaid containers full and he had put a 5 gal bottle of culligan water in our deep freezer. We also been working on eating up things that would go quickly, like ice cream……not that I’m complaining………..grin

This week started out rough at work, with people not doing their jobs on top of having some major projects to do. But it ended much better then expected. We get our truck on Saturdays, so we have until Tues. night to get the shipment up, but we are not allowed to put it on the floor until after 6pm Sunday with it being the weekend. Which makes the beginning of the week busy to start with. We had 3 big projects we needed to get done. One of the projects was a huge salebook return that needed to be done, thankfully we have Ron….he was able to get that done. We also had voids (which is were we remove books that we no longer carry in store) and we had overstock. As of close Friday night we had over half the overstock done & only 1 section of the store left to void! That was great!

Added to a good end, Jackie’s hubby dropped off some sweet pasteries for us on the way home from work. I can’t pronouce what they are called, muchless spell it………….but it was good…..grin That was so thoughtful of him! I almost didn’t recognize him since I’m so use to seeing him with their youngest son, CJ (who looks so much like him). =)

We’ve been trying to get some cleaning done today. We have friends coming over for a bbq tomorrow and we are looking forward to that. Especially since it is finally sunny out again…..now if the pool would just warm up some……all that rain brought it down to 80…..lol

Well, I need to get the receipts done today since we are having company tomorrow.

Deep Thought of the Day

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death. What’s that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you’re too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alchohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months warm, happy, and floating?you finish off as pleasure.
