Lazy Days

Alright, I got my Harry Potter done! Took me about 5 hrs today to finish off those last 450 pages……….lol It was good, I’m hating the wait for the last one. I’m going to get into what happens since I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who has not read it yet……Time magazine spoiled some of it for Harold =(

I spent the last 2 days actually enjoying my days off by spending a lot of time in the pool and just spending it with Harold (beside reading my book). I was planning on unpacking the few boxes and start hanging the rest of our pictures, but I took the lazy way out instead, cuz I know I’m in for a heck of a week at work.

Long story short….we have a manager who has put in his notice and now he doesn’t do crap. He has been destroying morale. My GM and I feel it would be almost best not to bother with a 4th manager, cuz with the 3 of us we are on the same page and wish to make the store the best.

Once we get the keys from him, I may go into more detail but that’ll have to do for now.

The Wedding

This is what I started to write about my weekend in Indiana (14th-18th) & now that I’m finish with my book I’m going to try and finish up.

It has been a very busy weekend.

Friday I went to pick up Sandi & I took her to where I use to get my nails done. They still recognize me. =)~ Sandi has never had her nails done & since I’ve been having them done for the last 8 she wanted me there to help her with it. Since she won’t be keeping them we got her a basic manicure and we then picked out an air brush design for her.

Once we got done there we headed over to Kmart. There are none where I live in Florida, they all closed. =( I really need some more clothes for work and I just can’t find what I like at the other places. I really like the Jaclyn Smith line at Kmart. It took me less then 10 minutes to fine 3 tops, so that was really cool.

Monday……cont….(Don’t know when I’ll get this posted)

I started this at mom & dad’s Sunday night, I’m now at the airport in Indy (found a plug so I can save my battery..lol), Aerosmith’s song “Don’t want to miss a thing” is playing in one of the eateries here & I can’t help but think of seeing Harold soon. =) I really miss him. I know me being gone wasn’t easy for him. What is not going to help is I start back at work tomorrow & I don’t get to spend the time I really want to do with him.

Back to Friday, we finally got back to Sandi’s place Friday night; Ed had taken the kids to the church to get it ready for the wedding. When Sandi checked the caller ID and saw that Ma Weaver had called. When she tried to return the call there was no answer. If there is no answer at that time of the night, then there is a problem. We finally found out that her Aunt Fern (who was up for the family reunion from Arkansas) was in the hospital for chest pains. No one knew anything more then that. So of course it was time to take a trip up to the hospital to find out what was going on.

We took the back roads & Sandi is really out in the country so it took a long while on the back roads to get there. We finally got there & it took a bit to find where she was because she has been known to Sandi as Aunt Fern, no one knew her given name….lol

Aunt Fern was hanging in there. As of Monday afternoon they feel that the problem is with her heart (weren’t sure if it was the lungs) now they need to find out if she can go back to Arkansas for her own doctor or have the medical procedures done here.

Time to get ready for boarding. =)~

25th….Monday…finishing up

Aunt Fern is back in Arkansas & is back under the care of her own doctors.

So that Friday Sandi & I did not get back from the hospital until about 1am, didn’t crash until 2am & was back up at 6am………it was exhausting. We had to get to the American Legion by 9am to set up for the reception and then head to the church by 10am to finish setting up there. After set up at the church we had to head over to the county fair grounds where the family reunion was being held. Luckily for us it was there and not Indiana Dunes cuz there was no way we could’ve made that drive and be back in time for the rehearsal @ 2pm…….and then the wedding was @ 5pm.

It was interesting stopping in at the family reunion. It was large & I don’t even think Sandi knew half the people there. It really had a southern feel for it almost like a revival, but most were up from Arkansas and are active in the Pentecostal Church, so it was fitting. =)

The rehearsal took longer then expected & I had to keep giving the poor boys the eye when there were getting antsy. Nick & Zach were the groomsmen, Matt the ring bearer, Cassie & Jessica the bridesmaids, while their friend Nathan stood for Ed and I stood for Sandi. Rehearsal was good for getting all the bugs out and figuring what we were doing.

After rehearsal we were rushing around trying to get ourselves ready. Sandi’s cousin Lennie did her make up while Cassie did her hair. Lennie was a god send on getting things together for us and getting my hair done.

The ceremony was very pretty and lasted about 30-40 minute. They had a song by Yanni for the entrance of the bridesmaids & groomsmen and an Enya song for Sandi’s entrance. I was very proud of the boys; they did very well on standing still and behaving. Mom, Dad & the kids even made it. =)

The reception was fun and had lots of food. I was able to see members of Sandi’s family that I haven’t seen in years, got to talk to Ma Weaver for a bit & even got to see Chrissy, Sandi’s sister who use to work for me at Fannie May.

I didn’t get back to mom & dad’s (about 1-2hrs south) until after midnight. Then I couldn’t go straight to bed, all my clothes were so unorganized in the back of the car from us going through everything for the wedding. So I spent about an hour repacking and organizing everything.

I spent Sunday driving down to see Melinda (about a 2 hr drive). It was good to see her. She has lost a lot of weight. I’m just hoping she gets her head back on straight.

I spent the rest of Sunday just visiting with mom, dad & the kids. It was great to be able to do that. Mom & the kids dropped me off at the airport since dad got called into work.

All in all it was a very busy, but good weekend. I can’t wait to see my family again in Aug. =)
