A Relaxing Day

I have the weekend off. So when I got off from work yesterday I went to get my nails done. They were about 6 days over do………..and it was showing. Last time I got them done, I did one of my purples. When I got home, Harold was like “you always get purples, blues & reds”……then I’m like “what would like……..green?” I never thought he would ever like that, so I never gave it much thought. It took me time, but I did find a green……neon green & a neon yellow……….I really wanted a kelly green, but neon will do………….grin

So now I have both neon yellow & green on my nails……….lol Wild…

We did watch the Preakness………….did you see that AFleet Alec almost went done?!? My heart jumped! Luckily, he regained his footing & no one was hurt, in fact he went on and won the race. =)

I then hope that I actually get some packing & letter writing done.

A Class Act

They didn’t win to go on to the finals, but Reggie Miller still went out on top.

I was crying like crazy during the last few seconds, especially when the coaches took thier last time outs just for Reggie to get the ovation he so rightly deserves. I can’t type anymore about…..already starting to tear up.

Catch Up

We had a great time at with the mini runaway. We went out to dinner & just talked and having our quality time that we really needed. It was a great day & evening that we had together. Luckily we have another one coming up with our anniversary around the corner.

Since my last day off, I’ve been working a ton of hours this weekend. Poor Harold, he has been wanting me to make oatmeal cookies…..took me almost a week to get the time. But they are done. =)

I need to figure out my phone. For some reason when my mom calls me it doesn’t ring & goes to voicemail. I thought it was cuz she was under private, so I asked her to program *82 in front of my # so it would show up & may be it would ring. Didn’t work…..I don’t get it.

When I talked to her she was saying that when our oldest niece throws her fits she goes on about why don’t we live close and when can she visit us….starts talking about how she misses her uncle. Which I find very interesting. She is very quiet around Harold, yet he has had such an effect on her. Mom thinks it is cuz outside of grandpa, he is her only real family male role model & that he has taken time to teach her to tie her shoes & stuff like that.

We got all my china and most of my knick-knacks from my china cabinet packed. We are playing catch up on all our shows. I need catch up on emails & comments.

Day Off

It is nice to have a day off with good plans.

We already did our much needed bike ride, Harold took a few more pics of the baby blue jays….they now have their eyes open and no longer make noise when they hear us. But boy….when they don’t see or hear us…..noisy little buggers. =)

We are going to a friend’s place for the night, it isn’t too far from here (they are out of town). It has its own private beach and we plan on enjoying it to it’s fullest. But it is great for us just to spend some nice quaility time together.

Luckily I don’t work until tomorrow afternoon. I did just over 12 hours @ work yesterday.

I know some folks don’t get why being salary can be important compared to an hourly manager, but what I really like is that I don’t have to be a clock watcher. If I feel I need to stay over to get something done, I can & not worry about getting us in trouble for overtime. And that pays off in the long run cuz there will be days that I don’t need to stay over and leave a little early. This last 7 months was the 1st I’ve been an hourly since I graduated from college & it was weird.

I’m feeling really good about our shop & management team. I feel as if we are all on the same wave length as managers & with the strong players in our shop we can really get things turned around. Even our DM said that we have a lot of opportunities & once things are caught up everything will fall in to place. That made me feel good.

Need to finish getting things together. If the place has internet I may update you later, if not….chat with you later. =)
